Cost Surprisingly High for FlowMaster

I took my 2010 SS in to Meineke here in Colorado to get an estimate to replace the stock mufflers with FlowMaster or Cherry Bomb but I was surprised by how high the cost. Here is what they quoted me installed with labor & tax, full cost:
FlowMaster Axle back: $810.27
FlowMaster Kit: 2,108.04

Am I out of line thinking this is too much?

Mick

You can get a whole system for that. That is high. There markup is probably 40%. I would look around and order what you want from vendors here at camaro5.com and then find a muffler shop to install.

Full catback from Flowmaster, Cherry Bomb and Heartthrob is just a little over $600 shipped. Labor is likely to be $100. My Meineke charged me $45 to install my axleback.

I paid 788 installed and I had them remove the resonators. I make pretty good money and I don't have the tools to do it, so it was worth my money to have someone else do it.

Found Flowmaster axle back (mod. 817495) for $385 from Autoanything.com (with $25 discount through Bill Me Later). Flowmaster sells same item for $523.00, while most secondary vendors prices range from $408-439 at Amazon or Nextag.

marylandspeed.com

a reputable supplier on this forum...can tell you from experience, great customer service and will guide in the right direction. Some have said CALL for best price, but even online they have damn good prices for flowmaster. Around 650 for cat back on sale from 900.
