I started driving in 1988 and gas ran arouns 1.00 a gallon
in 1994 when i moved to florida I think it was around 1.40 a gallon
in 2001 when I purchased the house I live in gas was 1.59 a gallon
to me it was amazing to see that prices stay reletively the same for nearly 20 years but in the last 2 or 3 they have gone freaking nuts. seems to me someone is yanking our wallets out.

This latest rise makes me particularly mad for 2 reasons.

1) Libya only accounts for 2% of total oil production, and the majority of it is shipped to Europe.

2) Saudi Arabia increased production to compensate for any reduction from Libya, which has been practically non existent.

So, shouldn't gas have really only been affected by 2% if at all? Since Saudi Arabia increased production to pick up the slack, and Libya's oil production really hasn't been affected, so supplies are actually higher. Gas should have dropped. Its just another BS excuse to screw us all! How many mansions that will never even be vistited, and how many cars/jets that will never even be sat in are needed by the Oil kings!?! Many people can't even afford to make their mortgage payments. As#$oles!!!

It's a high cost we're paying now, but it was higher before. In equivalent dollars, I believe the highest price for gasoline was in late '79 or early '80. I was driving taxi then and paying for it every 12 hour shift. It wasn't cool at all...

Well unless the middle east wants another recession or even a depression and have oil prices go below 35 a barrel again, prices better go down. High oil means everything goes up from a new car to bread at the store. Most of OPEC believe's 100 a barrel is a fair price but i think the Saudi's said 75 would be a fair price and is why they usually go over the output they are supposed to do.

I really like how gas and fuel prices go up which in turn makes all the other prices go up (i.e. food and everything that has to be delivered), but our paychecks never seem to go up to compensate. I would just like to thank the Govt. and oil producers for the recent recesion and look forward to the upcoming depression!!!!:mad023 3:
