Dropped off my car at IPS today. Here are few of the parts they're going to put in and a pic of a part of their shop.

Christine the Ford Taurus is currently out of service until we can get her on a lift to figure out if the sway bar is busted.

The good news...I'm back in a GM. 2001 Oldsmobile Alero.

We will probably think the next design they have are ugly as well.

Thanks, Drew. IPS said they may take the body off the frame to expose the motor, transmission, and rear end. They thought it would save them some time. I asked IPS Brandon to call me when they do because I must get some pictures of that.

Your car does not have a frame. Camaros never had frames. Since 1967 they have been whats called a Uni-body structure. A front subframe and a body shell with integrated frame.

They will have to drop the rear cradle to install the bushings. Thats no big deal.

As far as dropping the front subframe (with engine and tranny) to install the cam... that sounds silly seeing you really only need to remove the front bumper and radiator to access the cam... maybe a tad more with your intercooler but I still see it being a bigger PITA to remove the entire subframe... Its doable, just so much stuff to take off but since a lot is going to be off already when the rear end is out... maybe its worth it. I woundn't do it, but what do I know.

I take back, what I said... I missed the torque converter so since the tranny would need to be dropped to install that, I suppose that it makes sense to drop it all.

You don't get a fancy shop like they have without knowing what they are doing...

Maybe he used the word "subframe." I think you get my drift. It just sounded picture worthy to me and that was my point.

Haha yeah, i know it sounds crazy, i wanted an AWD car and found a great deal on a VR4 Spyder. It only had 55k miles when i picked it up in July. Plus i never have to worry about someone having the same car as me. I have literally only ever seen 2 in person. One i bought, and the other i almost bought in NJ.

I believe it is being restored, i think i saw a thread about it on 3si a while back.
