But seriously, can we get a quick egress into the rear seat already.
My 2000 GTP had this

Not done yet. I read somewhere on Cam5 that GM was coming out with full power passenger as an option soon, so a retro would be easier that way. Will search a bit and see if any more word on that.

Sat in a Camaro again yesterday. I'm 5'4" and I didn't have any issue with the visability from the passenger side at all. I can't wait to see the view from the drivers seat though, and our baby will be is enroute now!

My wife said the Camaro would be a fine road trip car, if it wasn't for the fact that she has a hard time seeing out from the passenger seat. No problems when she is in the driver's seat.

I thought about seeing if I could find/buy just the lower seat cushion/frame (not the back) of a 1LT/1SS driver's seat and swap that out with the passenger seat. Swapping out the entire seat isn't an option because of the airbag location. The only thing I have't figured out yet is how to deal with the passenger airbag sensor in the seat cushion. I'm pretty sure the driver's side seat cushion won't have that in it.

If GM does listen and adds a height adjustable passenger seat in the 2011 model, I'm paying to get one for my car.
I have a really good dealer. Because of the passenger seat issue and my wife being 5'-0" he threw in a new wife that is 5'-10" at no extra charge

I added some longer treated bolts and two spacers for a lift of 7/8
ths of an inch. That little bit made a world of difference.

third1 - The only thing that scares me about that is there has been no crash testing done that way. . . plus I wonder if your insurance company got a hold of this info it they could legally void your insurance claim.

........further, "Mom Settlemire" has threatened to 'ground' the entire team unless we come up with a dealer installed retro-fit as an accessory. She loves her Camaro -- but her friends claim they can't see out........

More to come.

GM employee? Designer? If so, very cool that you stop by to check up on us.

While I love my new Camaro, if you're gonna charge mid 30s, you gotta have a lot of the same goodies that come with your competition (Mustang, 350/370Z, Rx-8, etc).

Do a Google search on Scott Settlemire.......you will find out who fbodfather is!!! One in the same.

Mr. Camaro
Scott Settlemire
Camaro Subject Matter Expert

Biography: Scott Settlemire was raised in Suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His Father and Uncle were Chevrolet dealers and his cousin still runs a Chevrolet Dealership. This gave Scott a very unique perspective on cars – and Chevrolet in particular - and as a result, he has an interesting understanding of Chevrolets … and Camaro in particular.

He’s been in his words "a rabid Camaro Fan since I first saw a Camaro in person on September 10, 1966."

"Being involved in the Chevrolet Camaro is more than a job to me … it has been a life-long passion."

Scott graduated from Northwood University and worked as Sales Manager for a Chevy Dealership prior to being approached by General Motors. He started his GM career in Philadelphia and held many positions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, Suburban Boston, Metropolitan New York and, of course, Detroit.

He became Asst. Brand Manager – Camaro (and later Camaro Product Manager) on the Camaro/Corvette Performance Car Team and worked on the 4th gen F-car. His official title is "Manager – Chevrolet and Hummer Shows and Exhibits" – but he’s still working with the Camaro team and Chevrolet on the next generation Camaro.

Location:
GM Global Headquarters, Detroit, Michigan

Um, no. There would be no "voiding" of any claim. They may drop you after, but claims are paid even for stupid and illegal acts. I am not saying this is an example of either, it is not.
