As a favor to the Camaro5 community, please post the VIN to make sure we don't see that one showing up on a used car lot somewhere.

Lots left.......... Late model flood losses can bring 50% of retail or more !
The insurance company may have this salvage steamed cleaned before the auction to maximize the value at auction. They pay an additional fee for this service. The complete front clip, rear clip and dozens of other parts can be worth a fortune to a auto salvage yard.
If properly cleaned up right away, I bet this salvage will bring $8,000+ at auction.

Those of you who think a flooded car is easily restorative, I have news for you.

It isn't!

If you were to pull off the seat covers, dashboard, pull up the carpeting, pull off the headliner, and remove all the trunk lining, you will see more computer circuit boards than Watson, the IBM supercomputer on Jeopardy. You'd have to remove every electronic circuit board and wire harness, individually before you attempt to start the car, be sure they are cleaned with electronic contact cleaner, then properly and thoroughly dried. THEN, you'd have to be sure the whole rest of the car is complete clean and dry. THEN, reinstall everything properly.

What I'm saying is the second you apply voltage to a circuit exposed to moisture, let alone a 6+ foot flood, you can kill the microprocessors, oscillators, and transistors. At minimum the car would have persistent, intermittent, and wacky "glitches". Intermittent lights blinking, wipers turning on or going up half way, speedometer flipping out, radio, climate control, airbags, ABS..... God knows what.

I had State farm when my new Cavailer was lost in an urban flash flood. They quickly totaled the car & paid, no problem.

Whether they are or not is moot. Car belongs to State Farm who will sell it at auction. A dismantler, wrecker, body shop or international rebuilder will soon own it. From an educated and informed guess, this car will be "repaired" and be put back on the road in Russia. хороший пока

How long ago was that? And did they give you enough to replace it?

No, they just insure the building. Not any contents. I knew that going in.
