Ford Focus RS (europe) and Ferrari (Strada) use painted strips on their vehicles !
However, provided the vinyl stripes are applied well, it at least would give you the option to easily change them if you got board, witrhout needing a new paint job.

The black car with Orange strips looks great, would match my Harley.

to match Hyltons post,

The stripe packages can be intermatched in any way shape or form THROUGH THE DEALER.

Example:

You can get the solid 1 stripe (with the hockey package) and no hockey stripes.

OR

You can get the dual rally stripes and a hockey stick (thus eliminating the 1 single stripe)

Its all through the dealer from what i've read, which is a slight bummer but o well

This was posted in another thread, however I think it's useful enough to post in the stripes thread.

This is really making me re-consider my rally stripes... I would be so pissed if my stripes ended up looking like this within a year without anyone physically messing with it. If this is natural, then no way with the stripes.

Well I have had vinyl stripes on my cars for years and none had anything like that happen to them, unless it was damaged by someone or installed badly...

this is the #1 thing i am worried about regarding the stripes... and now i'm actually considering not getting them.

would this kind of damage be covered under warranty? and is it possible to have stripes re-done?

regardless, that's annoying... i've always thought that the stripes should be added before the clearcoat while the paint is being done... then this could never happen, and would be almost as good as being painted on
