'01 Oldsmobile Alero GX Coupe at Acura of Columbus, 54k miles, $4200.

I'll try and get that down to $3500-3800. If the body/interior check out, I'll pull the trigger.

Not a fan. Find a grand am GT. Same car, better looking, plenty out there.

Ehh. Not much of a fan of Grand Ams. I like the cleaner-looking Aleros better.

Can't stand the Pontiac headunits in those Grand Ams either. Ugh. It's like whoever designed it just threw darts at it to figure out where to put controls.

The Alero's headunit is pretty similar to my Envoy's, and I have to say that's probably the best headunit GM's had up until now.

Totally agree but I thing the GT is much sleeker and sportier than the Alero. The SE Grand Am sucks.

Mmkay, now here's the rub...

My friend owns an '01 Alero GL Coupe with the 3.4L 3400 SFI V6.

Her car puts out 170 HP/210 lb ft torque. This Alero GX Coupe I'm possibly getting has the 2.4L LD9 Quad-4 and puts out 150 HP/155 lb ft torque.

I'm fairly sure I have better reaction time than her but she's going to smoke me at every stoplight.

She always teases me about one day having a faster car but I didn't think it would happen so soon.

Eh, the quad 4 is a good engine... a little tweak here, a little adjust there and you'll take her!
