TSP Cam + RPM Tune = Impressive numbers

I installed a TSP cam 229/236 cam on a 113 LSA and I must say it is impressive. It didn't have quite the lope I was looking for but that's okay. I drove it to RPM in Garner, NC and they did a great job tuning the car, it drives perfect and put up some impressive numbers. Other mods I have are Kooks 1 7/8 long tubes, high flow cats, 16483 Magnaflow 3" catback, CAI filter kit & a VMax ported TB.

Thanks to Ryan, Jason, Martin and the rest of the RPM gang for their professionalism and great work. I highly recommend anyone in their area that needs work done to give them a call.

Run file #1 below was my stock numbers in October 2009 with about 3,500 miles on my car. As you can see that is almost 106 rwhp and 84 rwtq gains! And yes these are the corrected numbers.

Adding one of the early dyno runs, I didn't get any of the later runs with the bigger numbers, but you get the idea.

I actually looked at the 231/236 as well but I decided on this one to get a little more low end torque. That and the fact that you said there was some minor surging with driving 60 mph in 6th gear which is where I do most of my driving. I was actually expecting ~ 465 hp with this smaller cam based off of your numbers, so I am more than pleased. Now it's time to get it to the track.

I'll see if I can get a video of it idling added as well.

I was expecting around the same on numbers as well, and I took mine back to get it retuned and it doesn't surge as bad anymore. I didn't dyno it again, the butt dyno is saying its about the same as before.

LRC does it lug at all? I was thinking about about the 231/236 kit, but if the 229/236 kit is making that much HP and you are still able to not lug at the lower RPMs that would be great.

very impressive numbers, i think this cam performs better than the 231/236 cam.

I drove it around town and I didn't experience any lugging/surging issues. Like many others have said it has allot to do with the tuner you select and I know I made the right choice for that.

Just curious, were these numbers on a mustang dyno or something else.I just got done installing same cam plus good ported and milled heads V max ported intake and throttle body vararam tune intake ,underdrive pulley,Kooks LTs and full exhaust with hi flow cats.My car runs hard, but did not make anything close to those numbers on a mustang dyno.My tuner said true 500 hp to the wheels is tough to do with bolt ons.Any ideas?

It's a dynojet - Mustang dynos do typically run lower.

The torque is insane btw...
