Squeaky noise when accelerating - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My car squeaks when i hit the gas hitting 2,000rpms only..not a loud squeak...it only does it sometimes..it only does it when i drive because i put it in park and revv it and theirs no squeaking...so im kinda confused idk what it is..can someone help?

I got the same squeaky sound coming from hood 1-2 mths after i bought it 2012 oct- nov dealership told me its coz of cold weather initially back then and summer past-by still same noise they asked me to recreate it but it don't make that noise when i want to. i still get it occasionally, very unpredictable and usually occurs when cruising on plain road at steady with light gas-- speed @ 30-45 & rpm @ 2000-3000, took to dealer several times they kept asking me to replicate the noise; i told them that it is just unpredictable and i have no control over it when it makes it. Bottom line they decline to investigate the noise...

I have been trying to video record so that i can show them but on recordings it does not sound as clear as you would in person.. probably due to road noise.

I tried spraying WD40 on all the belts that i see around engine bay, it did not help.. It sound like its coming from engine, it seems to be directly related to acceleration and it sounds as terrible as like one worn-out brake-pad at times and sometimes it just sounds like a sharp sounding whistle. To get this sound car has to be moving and you would like give very mild press on gas paddle, once you get it harder you push louder it becomes until at certain rpm range it goes away usually around 5000-6000.

Do you have any ideas to where that noise is coming from? I'm going crazy over it!

Take a look at your a/c compressor belt... Had to replace mine it'll walk up the crank pulley
