I just got an email back from Joe DiMichele at SLP saying that the Loudmouth II axle back will fit the verts!!

I don't know if I'll get ripped off having the dealer install it, but what would a reasonable price be for install? I have heard it's not that difficult to install axle back, but I don't have the right tools.

Now to search for the best price so I can have it by the time my car gets here.

Just find someone who has a chain cutter and car ramps. It took me about 15 minutes to install mine.

i had a local shop do my flowmaster for 50bucks i am geting them welded on this week

Awesome, congrats! It really wasn't difficult to remove the old- I.did it with a hydraulic jack.and 2 floor stands. What is somewhat annoying is getting the old system off where the "V" braces meet near the rear bumper. There was A LOT of tension on the mid point nuts so I didn't feel.comfortable removing them during the process, thus limiting the access. If you dont mind cutting the stock exhaust (and feel REALLY confident in the fit of the new system) cutting the mufflers off during removal would make it even easier. Other than that- both off and.on were relatively easy! (I had never done it before either...) good luck, post picks!

Vert or hard top? Axle or cat-back?

I spent all day trying to fit axel back FM on a vert... ain't happening.

Yep... check out Drago's post about his experience. Not all fit the verts with the extra bracing. It was some good info that made me double check before I ordered anything.

Yes it will fit , that's going on mine now at slp. It's not very hard for you to try this yourself, since it's new and not all rusty [ that's when it get's allot harder] but if your not to good with a wrench in your hand just have it done ,should'nt cost much to install.

Nice, the more confirmation, the better! I'd love to do it myself, relatively handy but not a mechanic by any means. I do like having an excuse to buy new tools...

I was nervous about it but the directions that came with the SLP LM II were excellent and really easy to follow including pictures. I went out and bought one of those chain cutters for exhaust pipes that worked pretty slick. Only other tools you need are a ratchet and a wrench or adjustable wrench, and the ramps. Make sure you do it in a place like in grass where the ramps dont slide. I did mine on my concrete drive way and when I went to drive off the ramps the car spit the ramps out as I dorve off of them.

I paid $80 to have my Loudmouth 2 put on today - got mine welded on though rather than using the brackets

Mines a hard top, so I can't confirm if it will fit on a vert - just giving you the price I paid for install

Augie, did you have to remove the diagonal brace bar, as you worked each side?

No this was on my coupe and I dont think the axle back will make any difference on the vert. Hopefully my vert will be here this weekend so will let you know for sure.

Just saw this other thread too. I'm sure it will be slightly different for the vert, but it could help. Still on the fence. If I can find a place that will do it for under $100, I'll probably do that to make my life easier.
