(State Trooper was sitting in the median of the interstate completely blacked out at 10pm on a dark night.. No parking lights and no interior lights)

He caught up to me and turned his blue lights on so I pulled over. He clocked me at 82 in a 70.. He ended up giving me a warning.. however I was EXTREAMLY lucky.... considering what all he could have wrote me a ticket for...

Speeding
No Proof of Insurance (lost my insurance card somehow)
Failure to Register (having some paperwork trouble atm)
Ficticous Tags (still have tags from one of my trade-ins)
Illegal Window Tint
Illegal operation of a Nitrous Equipt Vehicle (a class C misdemenor since I
forgot to unhook the line from the bottle)
Failure to signal a turn (changed lanes when I saw him coming)

He didn't see the Nitrous bottle and I rolled the windows down before I even got to a complete stop. He didn't ask for the bill of sale or mention the tags or failure to signal.. he just told me to slow down and make sure to have insurance card on me... gave me written warning and let me go.. cool cop.
Wow. All I have to say. Definitely one of the nicest cops EVER

You can do as you please.

Hey Miller, I had a m/c cop get me going southbound on cave creek and pinnicle peak doing 28 mph over...I got the ticket but I forgot to grab my new insurance cards off the counter at home. I called my ins. company on my cell and he got on the phone with them and was able to verify my ins. That was pretty cool of him, couldn't blame him for writing me up for speeding though.

I have to ask..if the cop wrote a ticket he is now an a-hole? Seems to be what a few posters are insinuating, and I am not sure why.

Anyways, OP needs to go purchase a lottery ticket ASAP...

Wow you got lucky...but really as a responsible driver that you are, you should really have all your documents in order. The next time you get pulled over you may not be so lucky.

Yeah, agreed here in DE it is a dismissable offense as well. But if you don't have insurance its a whole different story. I want you to have the insurance cause knowing my luck you would hit me.

now some of you now are thinking "this guy must've been a arse to the cop"...nope, not even close. respectful the whole time... so thanks officer, that was a great way to start my day!! oh and i seen him pull 2 other cars in the brief time he was in my sight too (he has just pulled back onto the hwy from one when he got behind me)

Unfortuantely Caper not all of us take the same approach towards our jobs. Some of us let the "chicken shit" slide while others will issue tickets because its their job and its in the codebook. By letting it slide I mean that I may pull you over for it, but you will be getting a warning as long as you act respectfully. All I can say is just try to keep all your stuff legit. And yes you will find all sorts of opinions on this site and there will definitely be ones that will say you acted like an arse. Only you will know the truth.

Our motorcycle unit is used mainly for traffic enforcement especially in "problem areas reported by citizens for speeding etc... I know that they are normally told that in these areas its zero tolerance towards violations. So they may have been telling you the truth. Not so much that he was acting like a "douche".

When I get pulled over for the first time in my Camaro (it will probably happen), I hope I'm at least half as lucky as you.
