I got lawyers involved but GM refused to give me a new car so they offered me a little cash settlement for my troubles but no fix.

Just got off the phone this morning with GM's Legal department trying to get my issued resolved. I didnt forget you guys though I told them I dont want a new AY6 transmission I want GM to find us an alternative transmission and that I am not the only one having these issue. I stressed the fact that if something isnt done in the near future they will loose a lot of valued customers then I directed them to this thread ofcourse. I cant promise anything but I am trying my best to get us a permanent resolution not just a band-aid.

I hit GM's facebook a lot these days. Someone gave the format of GM's email address going to fish around trying to get an email to Mr. Fitzpatrick. Peculiar thing was a GM employee asked me this:

Don't you already have a case open on this? In a perfect world, what could GM do to make you happy (please note, I have no ability to make anything happen.)

My answer was:

Properly fix my car. If you look at the camaro 5 forum i posted the link people have tried everything including transmission swaps and clutch swaps. If they cannot fix the problem I think i would be fair if they took the car back. Swapping my clutch did not fix the problem it just came back slower. Re-torquing the bolts on the pressure plate does not help. I am currently asking them for a time-line on a fix if they are willing to make one if not than take the car back. Notice I am not asking for money!!! I just want a car that is drivable. BTW i should mention my car is stock including the fluids I only serviced it at dealerships.

Took it to the dealership showed the videos of the transmission fracking up... Yes I have videos their answer was that they cannot replicate and they have to test drive it this weekend. I told the whatever and retained the services of a lawyer.

Seems like the best 'fix' was for you to have taken that cash settlement and used it as a down payment on a trade for a new Camaro with an automatic transmission.

At this point, I don't see any other solution for our Aisin problems ...

My car only has 3800 km on it, not cool :(
I have that same exact problem. However it's not just high in the rpm band on my car, it's if I try to shift too quickly into second at all. I do occasionally get a grind into third, but that's happened far fewer times than the 1-2 shift mess up. I kept thinking it was me, then getting mad because I couldn't figure the car out, thank goodness I just found this thread. I had the experience earlier today, clutch to the FLOOR, HUGE grind when going into second, then at the next stop I could not get the car into first AT ALL. What the hell is the point of buying a sports car that can't be driven like one? I'm not in a happy mood.... I answered the poll and have 16,000 miles.

Thanks for your input, and sorry that you are having this problem. Are you still using the stock shifter?
