State Farm writes me a check the day I turn in the estimate from the dealer. Then I take it where I want. Hell, they wrote me a $20,000 check on my house without even coming out to look at it for storm damage.

Your car is new enough that GEICO will have to replace all panels.

Geico says in most cases, the adjuster will issue payment for this damage at the time of inspection.
DeFouw says they know the Geico adjuster and have worked with them before. Also if they fined other damages they would contact Geico and inform me. I,ve had good service from DeFouw's and I like them all.
Going to Lafayette tomorrow to see adjuster and to DeFouws.
I will post what happens..
Thanks again for all the good suggestions and info.

Update

Went to Twin City Collision 3/1 to see the Geico adjuster, got an estimate looks like total updated cost as of 3/2 $4861.97. He wanted to repair the RF fender, but I told the shop to get a new fender and I would pay the difference. On a scale from 1-5 I rate geico with a 3 so far. While their the owner of Twin City talked me in to letting his shop do the repairs. I Know what your thinking but he made some very good points why. He's the owner and there, talked about his techs and their training, thay do paint and body thats all they do they don't sell cars, I told him I would want my car to be kept inside, the paint has to match perfect and he said he could do that. The next few things sold me, he said they could have all the parts tomorrow and the hood the next day. I asked him how long it would take to finish he said a week. He said thay would kept it in the bay it is now away from other jobs and put one of his best techs on it. So I told them to go ahead and do it. I tryed to impress upon him that it is more than just a car to me, don't know if he got that or not. Oh he also said I could come to the shop any time and see what they were doing. So far so good, I will rate there performance when I see the car.
I will update with pics. when I get the car or I may just run up their and take some pics, see whats going on.
Here is the late estimate I got online, check out the headlamp assy and hope a rock does't hit yours...or deer
One more thing seems the LF fender has a small buckle above the tire told them to just fix it.

Here it is if any one is watching

I picked it up last friday , looked ok at the shop but its allways hard to tell untill you get home and take a close hard look. The next day I took a long hard look at it and I,ve seen some things I don't like. Pics 1-2 is the overall , paint is a good match but I do see some fisheye in it were it's blended to the doors. There are some swrils in the new clear coat were they washed it. I asked them, told them several times to adjust the headlight make sure it was right, Pic 3 here it is in my garage. The pipes are in the center of the car you can clearly see that the right side is 4-5 inches higher than the left side and the car is only 5 feet away from the wall. Pics 4-5-6 the hood is warpped in front, in the pics you can see that it's lower on the cars left side than it is on the right, making the hood slightly higher on the right when shut. I have not been able to adjust it out. Pics 7-8-9 the front GFX were tight to the front of the car and undamaged when taken to the shop like pic7. Now it has gaps in pics8-9. Loose bolts, screws on the radiator support and under the car for the GFX. After moving the car around a little in the garage to get a good look at it I could smell the clutch never did that before. I can only think of Twin City some people just don't know how to drive a stick or they were abusing my car. I will never take this car or any other to Twin City Collision. Its hard it get good service these days, my money was perfect. We all sould Demand quality for our money, but most companys get by with this shit because we don't. I'm going to take it up to the dealer in about a week to get some of this stuff fixed and I will have to pay for it myself. I've tighten the bolts and fasters on the radiator support , under for the GFX and replaced the missing. Have not been able to get the hood right becasue its warpped. I'll work on it.

That sucks. :( When I've had accidents I've always taken it to the shop that I know does good work. They fight it out with the insurance or in my case they are also on the list of approved shops for Allstate so they don't even send an adjuster. If you brought yours to a Geico approved shop they usually guaranty the work for life so speak up and they may take care of it for you.

I hope you can get everything done to your satisfaction, and no you should NOT smell the clutch, did you inform Geico of the less than perfect paint and detail, they need to take this matter to the Twin City owner....

Why do you have to pay for stuff out of pocket?? Thats why you have insurance man. You should not pay anything out of pocket besides the deductible. Once you pay that you put your wallet away unless you get aftermarket parts that are NOT OEM replacement parts.

They are going to pay the cheapest route there really is no work around unless you can the body shop to cook the numbers for you. Otherwise you would have to pay the difference. To me that looks like a new hood

My experience with geico and it's selected shop has so far been very good. The adjuster is a car guy so he understood when I asked for GM parts. The shop told me they ordered all GM parts, and they sounded very excited to work on my car. I suppose it is definitely where you go for the work.

Also, since it was a shop that was selected and credited by Geico, the work is guaranteed for life as should yours be(unless you picked a diff shop)
Hope your situation pans out for the best!

Yesterday I made some adjustment to the hood took about 1-1/2 hrs. of massing with it , but its good. I didn't bend it or anything like that to get the wrap out I just moved it on the hinges front to back and side to side. The wrap came out of it, adjusted those dogs at the front cor-support and got a good flat line from the front to hood, good gaps all around.
Tomorrow Thursday I,m going to Lafayette Auto-Graphics to have the stripes put on the hood. Going to stop by DeFouw's and have them adjust the headlight and look at the front GFX ,see what they think about fixing it , what it would take.
I'm going to call Geico and tell them whats going on, hear what they have to say.
After seeing all of the fix and finish items with T-City using only OEM parts. I do not want Twin City people near my car, next it will need a clutch. Its probably going to cost me some more money for making a bad decision on a bodyshop.

I got an answer for you on this. If your car is a year or older they will replace with "like parts". Meaning your car is now considered used, why would they put new parts on it (i know its a a$$hole move). If you request new partys in some cases they will put the brand spanking new parts on there because you were smart enough to ask. If the car is less than a year old in most cases as a courtesy they will put brand new parts.

My car is a 2011 with less than a 800 miles on . I signed a form saying that thay could only use OEM new parts, all parts used were new.

Wednesday I went to the touchless car wash to clean it up a little before having the stripes put on the hood. When I got home I walked around it to see how good of a job it did. Well I found their was a gap in the front right finder and nose Pic#1. It looked at frist that it just needed tightend. So I got the inner finder well lose and out of the way. I found that the bolt clip on the finder was deformed, bent, and unuseable. It was put in wrong or 1/2 assed and just pulled out which sould have never happened.Pics#2 Looked on my old finder that I kepted along with the hood , one clip on it the one I needed Pic#3. Put it in tightend it ,Looks good no gap Pic#4
Thursday went to Autographics Lafayette they put the hood stripes on (perfected) these guys do good work. After drove down to my dealer DeFouw's Chevrolet had them adjust the headlight took them less than 2 mins. to adjust. While there had the bodyshop guy Josh look at the GFX front , looked to him that it was off center a little causing some of the problem. A min of 5hrs @ $50.00 hr. to get it tight to the front and right. "Anyone who looks at it will know its not right" Bingo thats what I have been saying.
Called Geico tolded them they need to get their adjuster up there monday. I,m going to leave it there to be fixed. Let you know what happens.
Oh talked to twin-city owner some headlights are supposed to be off, and I seen that the GFX had a little gap in it. That may be ok with him but he's not owner. If he would have told me that he could fix it but things are going to be a little off, I would have been down the road.

One last thing to do is get the GFX fixed and it will been done. Hopefully I will post some pics next week of the finished car!!
