Nope. You hardly represent anyone else in the world except yourself. There is a more classy demographic the Camaro can reach if it keeps the car civilized from the factory. For those of us that want it louder, that's easy to achieve aftermarket. Ever thought of trying to make an exhaust QUIETER? Yeah not so easy.

That's a really good point, but at the same time, the people, for the most part, buying an SS...aren't looking for a "classy, civilized vehicle." Keep the LS's and LT's quiet from the factory...but people wanting an SS want pure power.

Why aren't Vettes quiet? Mustangs?

People that want this car "loud" are going to go aftermarket or go through GMPP...so those people, potentially, will spend more on GM. Smart move.

I think a lot of people who owned the SS before during the 60's are going to be disappointed with the sound. However, I'm sure they're a bit older now... so you never know. They might appreciate it.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

This doesn't have the "Interior Accent Package" right? It is simpy the Orange Interior without the Interior Accent Package.

Still doesn't explain cloth panels but I think we all know why that is...it's not ready.

Seriously? Vettes are quieter than most Hondas from the factory.

Why aren't Mustangs quiet? Because that's the mullet demographic. It would sure be nice if the Camaro had a throaty sound to it that wasn't obnoxious, so that more people could say, "hey that pony car has balls but it doesn't spend it's time reminding you of it all the time....I could drive one of those" and boost sales.

I guarantee that's the thinking.

Its been said several times GM hopes to go after a more upmarket crowd and a civilized exhaust helps that. An enthusiast hearing a quieter exhaust will think, I can go aftermarket and take care of that. The average user hearing too loud an exhaust will just go buy something else. They don't want to modify their car.

Its a smart move on GM's part I think.

They have to pass noise tests of all different sorts and it has to be really quiet like a camry or something. Maybe since the challenger will have a much smaller production run they let it get away with a louder exhaust note? As far as mustangs being loud, from the outside of new GT's I cant hear anything?

For the OP, as long as its snappier/faster than a 96 LT1 Camaro I will be happy since that is the fastest car I've ever been in and is what I am basing my butt dyno off of.

Test drove a 2009 R/T Challenger the other day. It's pretty dang loud, but in a good way.

I actually believe your post about me not representing anyone else except myself might just be dead on. It's getting harder and harder to find people who think like I do anymore. WHICH is a big reason why I really fear for the U.S. in the future!

I'm only 42, but things have changed (for the worst) so much since I was old enough to start paying attention, that I'm more pessimistic than optimistic about things...and that's sad, because I love the United States of America! I'm one of those "last of a dying breed" that (and I'm not embarrassed to say it) still cry when I hear the National Anthem!

Yep, I am one of those classless, uncivilized, traditionalist Americans that is out of touch with the progressive move toward the new world order that's coming.

I still love powerful cars to sound (from the factory) like they preform! If I wanted a quiet car, I'd never even consider a Camaro! A quiet Camaro would never even cross my mind as even being worthy of consideration. My hearing's not the best, partly because I still love the sound of a wonderful exhaust note, and partly because I still love getting out in nature, and dare I say it...go shooting. In fact, a great day for me would be grabbing a couple of guns, the dog, whatever supplies we need, hopping in a fun, LOUD car, (WITH T-TOPS) and head out to the middle of nowhere and spend the day walking around some river bottom, or gorgeous mountainous terrain, enjoying God's handiwork!!!

I could go on and on, but what's the point?! The only thing I know for sure is that I'm too far down at the bottom rungs of the ladder to offer you a friendship request. Oh well, it's my loss....

My wives Lexus IS 350 makes a clicking sound similar to that on the video. Apparently its the high performance / efficiency spark plugs. Who knows if its the same with the LS3? Could have just been something else

Then that Lexus is chock full o' fail. That's the sound of shift linkage, there's no debate. If my spark plugs sounded like shift linkage I would shoot myself in the liver.

Your statement is not only offensive, but silly and ignorant as well, as I do not now have, nor have I ever had, any desire to bring harm to anyone!
