***UPDATE***

Well, I heard back from Ken who is the dealership service manager today and basically he only owned up to the fuel system and the alignment being improperly done and he offered me $689.00 of the $1489.93 the shop charged me. I asked him what about the axle seals from over filling the new rear-end and he stated that the new seals on the JRE rear-end must have been defective. I told him that I was there when the tech at Jannetty Racing removed the filler plug and fluid shot out of the fill hole on to my exhaust from the pressure. He then stated we I disagree with you on that. Ken was also trying to put the blame on Ted's tune when the vehicle ran perfect when it was dropped off and he stated that if a plug wire was bent it should have set a code for on cylinder versus a random PO300 code. I told him I do not know why it set that code but when I picked my vehicle up the light was on and vehicle was randomly dying. He disagreed with me again, so I asked him then how did the new plug wires fix the PO300 code? He stated that he was not sure it did. The dying problem was fixed by Ted's tech properly crimping and soldering the wires on the FPCM. I told Ken that I was going to speak with the owner at that point and he was being a smart butt and stated well he is out of the state this week. I said well at this point I have already spoken with my bank and they are going to reverse the funds back into my account and at that point he stated I dare you. So right after work I carried a letter to my bank and they are going to reverse the funds into my account tomorrow. They are also going to cancel my debit card and reissue me another one so they can not pull it back out. If they try and play hard ball then I will get an atty and countersue for reasonable expenses that consist of time off work, fuel expense, hotel expense, corrective repairs & legal fees. The corrective repairs alone were over $3250.00 and that does nit include any expenses.

I am standing up for what I believe is right!!!! I AM SICK AND TIRES OF DEALERSHIPS RUNNING OVER PEOPLE!!!! Once I meet with the owner and if he is a butt as well then I will release the dealerships name.

wow, that guy at the stealership has some balls huh!!! just put out the dealership's name already. this service manager is an absolute ass.

don't let any one else fall prey to these scumbags. You are right, it's about time someone stood up to a dealership and their bullshit.

on the other hand. It's nice to hear there are shops out there like Jannetty's. I spoke with Ted not too long ago and he was very helpful.

As soon as I have my money saved up , i'm driving up to Ted and i'm having him CAM my car.

It will be worth your trip to have Ted and his crew do it. It will save you headaches from delarships such as Freeland Chevrolet in Antioch, TN (Nashville area) .

Ray, I'm glad to see you're holding their feet to the fire. So many others would have caved in to the poor service without a fight. I would also make them come after the money.

Thanks Mark... They probably will come after it and at that time I will countersue and I will add in reasonable travel expenses, pay for lost vacation days, legal fees, etc. I do not see how any judge would deny this especially when I have another shop that may have to give their statement as to what they found upon my arrival and what was necessary to correct it.

I will keep everyone posted of the outcome.

Did you get their initial offer for $689.00 in print? I think this would help your case as they did admit that they incorrectly installed parts. If you didn't the sales manager probably will deny the offer was ever made. He then might tell you that there is no warranty on aftermarket parts or tunes. It will be interesting to see the outcome of all this. I hope that you get it all straightened out as your cost went from $1489.00 to $3250.00 & expenses now you are over $4700.00 total and I know that must really Suc! and I'd be Pissed.

He made the offer by phone and I declined it. I furnished all the parts and the problem was with their install of the parts. I feel pretty confident with Jannetty's backing that I will win the case if it goes to court. If it does then I will also go for reasonable expensive, pay for time off at over $300 per day, legal fees, etc.

--- stories like this are why I'm intentionally taking a bit of a side trip on our N.E. road trip this summer just to go stop by the shop and say hello.

I've only purchased one part from JRE, but he's worked with me in email a while now on different parts, combinations, etc. Even when I wasn't buying anything from the place they were willing to explain things to me and offer options.

I'm a stickler for fair pricing on both sides... but, shops like his (and there are others on this board I feel this way about) make me feel completely OK with any fees or prices that are set simply because I feel they're justified.

Just as your story shows.. There are places out there willing to just steam roll right over you and expect you to apologize to them for your inconvenience. Then, when you call them out, they act like you're the idiot. It's nice to know there are places left that are willing to treat people like people and not just some entry on a ledger. Customer Service goes a very long way in my book. Hell, it's why I'm reaching out to a shop to begin with.
