If he got zero cars in the Feb. concensus for the 3/16 - 3/31 build period, then he may get some in the early March concensus for the April 1-30 build period. So your order might be submitted in April sometime.
Note, the Feb. concensus was only for a two week period to the end of March!

Thanks EVS guys!
I've seen this consensus time-frame thrown up a couple of time - that the 1st allocation is for March 16 - 31 only (and not for a 30 day period). But I have not seen that confirmed by any of our dealers. If it has, could someone direct me to that thread?

Thanks

^^^The first concensus being for a two week period was told to me by CamaroScotty....I swear!

There's an allocation containing constraints every week, so this week's allocation is only going to affect those SS's pulled between now and next Thursday the 26th.

I don't think there's an RPO code yet for the Hurst, but I can't believe it's far off. This shifter has been planned from the beginning, I can't believe it's in short supply. And RPO gets on the window sticker too.

Yeah but the way it is worded it seems like its something that will be added later, not soon. They are saying the orders will be pulled in the other thread, meaning they will just delay the order till this option is ready... Maybe its a few days, maybe a few weeks who knows, rather not roll the dice.

Each consesus represents what can be produced during the next month's production run. Since production is scheduled to start on the 16th of March, it only covers from the 16th to the 31st. If it were starting on the 1st of March, it would cover the entire month. For April, it will run from April 1st to April 30th.

I just spoke with my dealer, he confirmed that my son's order for a IBM 2SS/RS w/white stripes will be "pulled" on 3/5.

That's great news since my son is due back from Iraq in early April. What a great Home Coming gift.

That's gotta make the return just a little sweeter. Are you affected by the Hurst shifter? Hopefully the stripe RPOs are out by then....got two more allocations to go.

That's great, hopefully he won't have to wait around too long for his car. Depending on when you car hits the production line, it'll be there as early as second week of April or as late as the second week of May.

ok i cant............

get any info from my dealer------on febuary 7th the day after the concenses--i called him to see what allocation he was given----he said hes heard nothing from GM.
but he would check into and call me-----------of course no call---a few days later i emailed the general manager asked him the same thing --he said the guys that checked the computer on those things for the camaro were off that day.

i waited a couple daysand called my salesman with the same questions and again he said he wpuld look into it and call me bac
---of course no call.

today after reading this page i called the sales manager--he was busy with a customer---left a message on jis voice for a call back covering the the same thing

the reason i want to know what allocattion he got on the febuary concenses s because im number 2 on their list--maybe it got none or only one--but i was never told to this day

now it becomes even more important after reading the message above cuz although im number 2---an ss/rs rally yellow/black hood stripes., the first on their list is a v-6-----does that mean i could be bumped to number one???

so the things i need to know --what is my staus level---how many allocations they got for the febuary concensus---what todays report does to my staus level-------BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I CANT GET ANY INFO FROM MY FIGGIN DEALERSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

AND PLEASE IM A LITTLE CONFUSED ON ONE THING WHEN WAS OR IS THE DATE IF THEY GOT AN ALLOCATION ON THE FEB. 6TH CONCENSES. THAT THEY MUST PUT IN MY ORDER--AND WHAT IS THE DATE THEY MUST PUT IN THEIR ORDER FROM THE ABOVE POST THANK YOU

^^^And they wonder why we drink heavily!!!

Only your dealer/GM can go into the system and find out if he got any cars in the first concensus. Yes, you're now number 1, he cannot submit an order for a V6, of course there are three more weekly allocations to go before production begins. I doubt the V6 constraint will be lifted though.

This also positions them for higher sales when the economy eases up a bit.

Do you think that is the strategy?
you wouldn't feel that way if you had ordered a V6 now would you???

Quite simply (IMO) yes, you are now #1 based on the V6 constraints.

so the things i need to know --what is my staus level---how many allocations they got for the febuary concensus---what todays report does to my staus level-------BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I CANT GET ANY INFO FROM MY FIGGIN DEALERSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

On Feb 6th each dealer KNEW what they were OR WERE NOT getting in the March production run. That's a fact.

Saw my good friend and old time car salesman at the local White's Mt Chevy dealership in Casper Wyoming who said they were given 7 Camaros to sell. 5 Sold the first day and the other 2 shortly afterwards. All 7 were SS models. One thing I really appreciated was him showing me a 2009 Cyber Gray Corvette that had a silver and black stripe kit on. It looked impressive! The rims were also Cyber Gray.
He said their dealership would paint on my silver ralley stripes if I chose Cyber Gray which would be far nicer than a sticker. I was grateful for the information he shared with me that will help when I make my order.

Thank you for the info though.
Why would they blow off 84% of their sold orders for the V-6 model?

They should change the name of this website to Camarofreakout.com, anyone remember a few weeks ago when everyone was losing their sh*t cuz the SS was going to get a constraint? Just remember guys they can't make every car at once. Someone has to wait.

Exposure- plain and simple. How many people here do you see that "refuse" to order until they can see it in person and sit in one? LOTS. Chevy needs the dealers to have their hands on one just as much as they need to see us driving around in ours. Why V6 instead of V8? IMO, simple dollars. They can put a V6 at each dealer vs a V8 for millions of dollars less. Example: $4000 less per car x 5000 dealers= $20 million

And they're not blowing off 84% of their sold orders; V8's are being produced right along with the "showroom" V6's.
