The picture doesn't show if the bracket interlocks with the OEM support or not. I see how it fits over the OEM bracket ,but I can't see where or if it locks in place to take the stress off of the OEM support opening.

It seems to me that it slides in place to add support??? I think its a brilliant, probably low cost, insurance piece that just drops in...

I also notice the 3D mount in the first pic looks a bit different that an actual stock one... there's is tapered at the top... Not that I think it matters, the science and engineering behind this solution appears to be sound...

cus you know, I'm not an engineer so that means I know everything....

I should just leave this stuff to the experts.

I'm no expert either ,but it would seem to me that if upward pressure is causing the failure then the bracket would have to be somehow attached to the OEM support to hold it in place so that it can take the upward pressure off of the OEM support hole. Otherwise it's just a big washer that could also move. I'm just asking so I can understand the fix. I'm not claiming to know more than these fine folk that do this for a living.

Nice! I'm assuming this would be recommended with any sway bar upgrade? Will this extra plate be steel or aluminum?

From the OP: "This piece is welded onto the OEM control arm"

It becomes part of the control arm.

My question is, does this piece require that the original piece be removed (cut) from the control arm or is this piece place over the OEM piece?

Obviously Blair or Aaron will set us straight.

But, my understanding is the first image is what the stock mount looks like, and it is welded on to the OEM LCA at the factory.

I'm not sure they say that new part is welded also... it sounds to me like the new part sits on top of the stock mount which is welded to the LCA...

but again, that is my unqualified understanding.

Where does it say it's welded on? It says the OEM support is welded to the control arm ,but it doesn't say the support bracket that they came up with it welded to anything? They say it takes 5min to install. I believe welding that onto the OEM support would take more than 5min.

I'll wait to hear from the pros. Thanks for your input though.

Good catch GTAHVIT. I assumed the new piece would be welded on too. Hmmmm. A 5 minute install might imply that it's not welded on unless you are "Uber Welder."

I assume the new piece simply has a tab on each side and slides underneath the OEM to keep it from moving.

That's the same thing I was thinking. Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough.

but I'm betting that's it. That would be the 5 min fix and should solve the elongated holes by doubling the reinforced area.
