Here is some new info on the Stripe Packages out there. I went to my dealer to check the status of my Camaro order and to discuss changing the wheels to polished from the "painted" midnight silver. Also to get to the bottom of the Hurst Shifter Constraint. Ok here it is. The Shifter contraint is real. If your order is moving up in production and you have it selected your order will be held until you decide to drop it or delay your order until a factory RPO is issued. I dropped it and will install one when available. I also wanted to check on the stripes. My order was with the Factory Installed White Stripe Package RPO B7X. Nothing on the quick order workbench or any official chevy site gives a detailed description of this stripe. My order guy at my dealer called directly to the production dept. while I sat there listening. Here is what we were told. RPO B7X and RPO B7W are both the single stripe package. This conversation between a dealer and production was documented and referenced by a code 71-70402463S which for the dealers out there should show that this was real. Ok so I wanted Rally Stripes like most of the rest of the world. So we checked into the Dealer Installed Stripe option LPO VZY. It is the same as the factory installed Package. No current LPO for a Rally Stripe. Any Color. This is based on the current as of 2-20-09 Workbench and Quick Order details. I hope the thousands of SS buyers out there dont get a shock when the car they have waited for shows up with that fat ugly single hood stripe. I took the easy way out and dropped the Stripe from my order and will have them painted on later. The vinyl ones will prove to be a pain in the ass anyway and I really like the rally stripes shown on the concept vehicle better anyway. Makes the hood look longer and stronger and going over the spoiler lets all the Mustang and Challanger owners see that you have stripes as you are pulling away from them. Good Luck and when the wait is over lets plan a huge national rally.

Your information on the stripe packages is wrong.

B7X is the factory installed white rally stripe package. It is equivalent to VYZ which is the LPO code for the dealer installed white rally stripe package. The LPO codes are as follows:

Rally Stripes Black (w or w/o spoilers) - VZG
Rally Stripes Silver (w or w/o spoilers) - VZF
Rally Stripes White (w or w/o spoilers) - VYZ
Rally Stripes Cyber Gray (w or w/o spoilers) - VYY
Rally Stripes Orange (w or w/o spoilers) - VYO
Hood and Hockey Stripe Package – Black (w or w/o spoilers) - VYQ
Hood and Hockey Stripe Package – White (w or w/o spoilers) - VYP
Hood and Hockey Stripe Package – Gray (w or w/o spoilers) - VYR

At present, the only stripe packages that are available for factory installation are the white rally stripes (B7X) and the cyber gray rally stripes (B7W). Those codes are different colors, but the same stripe design (2 stripes across the hood and across the trunk). GM has said they will offer more factory installed stripe packages, but no additional details on which ones have been released at this point.

I wanted the CGM rally stripes, but GM unfortunately doesn't offer them from the factory on the 1SS. I took them off my order because I wasn't sure if I wanted a dealer installed stripe that might end up crooked. It's too bad they don't offer more factory stripe packages on more trim levels. :(

Well that might be coming. Depends on when you ordered and when your order gets pulled. You still might have time to add that.

FYI....its a lot easier to get vinyl stripes straight than painted ones.

Here's another clear case of 'some dealers', Scotty excluded, as always, who are clueless of the products they sell. God I wish there was a law

in the automotive industry that claims only car enthusiast can be hired to sell the product.
