Regarding tha caps dimensions: Length, Width, Height, center to center for the bolt holes, bolt hole diameters, bearing bore diameter. Can you take a picture (side view of the cap)?

Here is a pdf (simple bearing cap drawing) for reference. Thank You

I love them. No issues at all. Just make sure you have a good shop to install because setup is VERY important. With suspension mods, I have very little noise up to 80mph. from 81-85mph I have a little wine but is fine with the radio on. That is it and again, that is with the suspension mods in my sig. I think the car should have came with these stock!!

Cool, thanks steelshark2.

I am putting together a list of parts I need/want with the gear upgrade:
  1. Richmond Gear 89-0003-1
  2. Richmond Gear 83-1077-1
  3. LPW Ultra IRS cover 201-10IRS (possibly the 211-10IRS*)
  4. JRE Billet Caps
  5. JRE Posi Mod* (undecided... not worried about burnouts, but not a bad thing have )
  6. Differential Bushings* (completely clueless here... I see BMR & Pfadt offer differential bushings, are the Pedders EP1167 Zeta Differential Mounts available seperately?)

Other than headers and maybe a cam & tune, not planning on adding any power... no plans on drag slicks for a year or two. I am hoping this will do the trick (hold together) for the 3-5 times I hit the track. I currently have an Eibach Pro-Kit Plus (f & r sways), waiting to see what the effects are at the track before purchasing lower control arms.

Control arms will do nothing at the track for you. They are not needed. Trailing arms on the other hand will help. Looks like you will have a kind of setup I do if you go cam. However, I did not to the posi or endcaps mod. No issues right now.

guys, can anyone recomend a shop in SOcal that has done these before? so far i have my dealer willing to do it, but im a little hesitant with them. Not that they dont do good work, just im pretty sure theyve never swapped in some 4.11's. They do have their own dif. guy, so im guessing thats a good sign...

Btw, can someone explain what a Posi Mod is, and if its necessary?

If American gear can make a stock gear for GM hold up to 1400 RWHP and not break and the car have over 250 passes your over priced gears should be able to do the same.

You also forgot to mention that you have changed the installation directions for the set backlash from 40 thousands to 15 thousands in the later released gears for the Ls3 cars.

Yes I have bought the gears and yes they broke. Yes it was on a stock car and yes you replaced them. I called you out on the installation changes and yes your tech guy explained why they changed it.

No I dont recomend anyone to use your gears.
Are you saying the stock M6 Camaro gears hold 1400rwhp.? I'm not an expert but I'd say keep the stock gears, vs upgrading for minimal gain and more risk to breakage.

American gear makes the OE gears that come in the Camaro stock and also make the 3.70 & 3.91 gears exclusively for LPE. I have tried along with many others on here to find them at American gear dealers but the only people who sell them are LPE and their authorized dealers!!

I'm generally not confused, but, this is really confusing as I had planned to upgrade my gears to get better performance on the track. But, after reading all of this, practically what I'm hearing is a vendor is selling people gears to get better performance on a high performance vehicle, but only for driving on the street not at the track?
Doesn't make any sense to me why anyone would tear apart their vehicle, to purchase gears to drive a second or two more quickly to get to work or the grocery store.
Great write up for PR but, I'd have to say if your gears aren't going to hold up on the track "don't sell them" because I don't think most people are doing this mod to drive to the grocery store. Just my .02 cents.

Either buy them from LPE or give RPM Transmission a call

These gears are the biggest waste of money!!! i don't understand why and how they keep selling these things! I would Never go Richmond again!!! How are you going to sell a performance part that you cant perform with???? if its not meant for the drag strip whats the point of having the gears then?!?!??
