Have had a high of 35 mpg on a trip back from upper Michigan, but was only doing 53-57mph.

Just follow the maintenance schedule and I think you will really enjoy it!

If you drive around town what mpg does it get? My v8 get 21 hwy 13.8 city.

Live in the country, so no real city driving. My avg speed is usually 45-50mph on each tank fill.
Sorry I can't help on that one.

Family has had the following cars since my '69 Chevelle got totaled in 1990:

1983 Toyota Tercel (hey I was a poor college student, 120,000 miles)
1994 VW Fox (bought used, it was a lemon..traded in for the Accord)
1994 Honda Accord (1st new car; 260,000 miles)
1997 Toyota Tacoma (75,000 traded in for Avalon)
2002 Toyota Avalon (190,000 miles on it and is my daughters car now)
2003 Toyota Highlander (leased it, didn't like it, returned at lease end)
2001 BMW 330CI (bought used in 2005 with 28,000 miles on it, started falling apart at 110,000 in 2009, cut losses)
2005 Acura TL (wife's current car, 75,000 miles on it now)
2005 Subaru Legacy (my current car, 82,000 miles on it now)

Can't say enough about the Accord, Avalon, Legacy and TL. Awesome cars for comfort and reliability. Loved driving my BMW but once it turned 100,000 miles the car was costing me money hand over fist for repairs.

All of them get mid-20's for mpg. Nothing to right home about. I'm going to be buying the V8 SS so mpg is not a primary concern. My main concern is reliability. I already went through hell with the BMW repairs and don't want to repeat it with the Camaro.

Thanks
Phil

Thanks for the glowing 20k review of the LS. As a fellow LS owner, I can attest to the fact that items included in the "base" level trim is really quite amazing these days.

Another thing to consider is that even if you aren't a huge fan of the stock 18" wheels, there are a lot of choices for replacement 18's in the aftermarket, and it's the same with tires as well.

I'm 100 miles away from hitting 30,000 miles on my SS.

Have yet to have ANY problem with the car.

I am at 20200 on my 2LT and she is awsome...I am averaging 21 mpg for freeway and city( more city than freeway or damn stop and go on the freeway). She is my DD and I wouldnt have it any other way. As someone mentioned before, on really bad snowy days that VaBeach actually had this year I left her at home, only to make sure she stayed safe from the idiot drivers! Your write up is awsome, I couldnt of said it better myself! I have taken my camaro to Ohio, Alabama, and down here to Florida and will be returning to VA in less than a month.... then come June she is going to go "home" to Oshawa for a visit!!
