Ok so I looked up Devildoc's run on this post:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=468

And here's mine:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=520

Except for the DA there is nothing different in our setups....

But comparing slips I noticed that my 60ft was actually faster than his, about .03 secs. But then after that my car slows down compared to his car.

What do you guys think?

This fellow commented on one of my runs and think it to be true.

Guess I would lean on that DA number problem then.

Another old school rule of thumb to think about. For every 10 degree temperature change for incoming air can be worth 1% HP. That said if you ran when it was 70 and higher DA. Devil ran when it was 40 and lower DA could be worth at least 3 - 5 % or 10 - 15 HP. worth at least a .1 to .2 on the track.

Maybe.

Was he running 20"s ?

Yep he's running the same size and type.

I just had a hard time believing DA made THAT much of a difference before saturday.

Other thought would be if you had bad gas. Scrming ran into that issue once.

Another factor could well be incline or decline of the track. I believe a track must be within plus or minus 5 degrees from horizontal to be sanctioned. Is your track even sanctioned? Atco is well known for its 5 degree downhill!

most people wouldn't think 5 degree is much but really go run on a treadmill and start at 0 and work up to the max incline and you will see how much a difference that would make no doubt. good point.

Do you mean NHRA sanctioned? Because it is a NHRA circuit drag strip.

One of the tracks out here, Byron Dragway (sanctioned), looks to be down hill, but, we did not see better numbers.

Ok so Atco is about 20' negative elevation from tree to trap. That equates to about 1 degree which I found is the Max tolerance (+/- 1*) for NHRA. So, not 5 degrees as lore would dictate but I gotta believe 20 ft is an aweful lot of help, especially if most of it is near the tree. The 60' times seem to reflect that this might be the case.
