Ug look v-6 is not muscle in my opinion. Why get a muscle car with a turbo by definition that is preposterous. The 6 is not a joke just a economical and non muscle car alternative to achieve the look. Im not dissing the 6 but just think about GM's underpowered heavy vehicles I can't see the camaro being much different. For instance a 4 cylinder g6 cannot merge on half the parkways around here if its auto ... (because you need to shift down to like 2nd gear to get any pick up at all).

Enthusiasts who can afford and don't have anyone to answer to (i.e. a wife or hub) can be perfectly acceptable in their 6 so long as they dont try to pas it off as American Muscle ... more like American Dream? Family car that looks bad ass.

As for me, I don't answer to anyone! No hub or bf freakin out, my parents (although I don't live with them) support the v8 wholeheartedly ... they bought me my first Iroc when I was 7 and I still have it =) (it wasent for me, it was for my Dad but I made them keep it until I could drive).

The point is, where ever you stand on this issue we all love camaros and c'mon guys we don't want to embarrass the stang guys with 6's someone has to whip the 6 stangs!

I really haven't seen the camaro as a muscle car since the days of the IROC - it just leaned down a different route.

You can consider it whatever you want though.

I'll keep thinking of it as more than just a muscle car.

so the Buick GN was not a muscle car then?

what about the enthusiasts who care more about the looks of the car rather than the power it makes? or the ones who plan on driving it till the warranty goes out and swapping the motor for something else cus its cheaper for them to buy the 6?

American muscle cars have american muscle. 300 hp v-6 is american muscle. not to mention, id much rather have the DI v-6 over a TBI or TPI motor any day...lol

I want to embarass v-8 stangbangers with a Camaro V-6. then completely shatter their dreams with the V8 camaro.

lol amen 2 everything CamroSpike said and then ssome!! Muscle is Muscle babay

INNER VOICE ONE: Lord help me, but I kind of want a V-6 Camaro.

INNER VOICE TWO: Er...what? Come again?

I.V. ONE: Yep, that's right. A Camaro. Without a V-8.

I.V. TWO: What are you, a kindergarten teacher?

I.V. ONE: Uh, no...

I.V. TWO: A grandmother?

I.V. ONE: No...

I.V. TWO: A hobo. That's it. You must be a hobo. Or maybe a decorator. Interiors? That your thing? Wait - did someone give you roofies? Can you even hear me now? What's your name? Do you know where you are?

I.V. ONE: No! Yes! I mean no! You know what I mean! Hey! Seriously!

I.V. TWO: Yeah, sure. Right. Whatever. Look, I don't have time for this. Lots of manly stuff to do and all that. Busy schedule. Call me when the 400-horse V-8 drops, willya?

I.V. ONE: But the six has the horsepower of a...

I.V. TWO: Sure, sure. Go play with your dolls or something. What's hot now, Barbie? Those Bratz things? I don't really care. I've gotta go.

I.V. ONE: (sigh)...

this is a quote from AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE's test drive of the V6 as you can see the consensus for this magazine wa the same as the others the V6 is ENTRY LEVEL KING!!! and is NTBFW !

After a couple of decades (mid seventies to early nineties) where the Camaro, Mustang and most other cars could not approach 304 horsepower.... with ANY engine available.... we should ALL appreciate the fact that GM has chosen to provide the Camaro with a BASE engine with 304 horsepower, be it 4, 6 or 8 cylinders:chevy :

Only insecure pussies with small johnsons go on about how it's "sin" to own a V6 and blah, blah, blah.

They feel buying V8 is more "manly". Meaning, they need something to make them feel like a man sense they'd be little peons otherwise.

If you don't actually RACE the car, then you're just a poseur trying to look tough revving your engine so people can hear the rumble. This makes up about 95% of the people who claim they "need" a V8 and that only women buy V6s.

It's an insecurity thing. Marketers play on this constantly. ESPECIALLY with cars/trucks.

I did love the sound of my V8, both in my '02 Camaro and the '06 GMC,
the Z was totally stock and sounded great, the truck had true duals and sounded really good.... not as good as the Z/28. I hope the V6 sounds good, but it will be the daily driver while I wait for the details on the Z or not to Z question...

i hav no problem with the six, partly becuz my 86 has a v6 in it, and partly becuz they get over 300 hp. in car n driver (i think it was them, it mightv been road n track) the v6 camaro was so much better than the v6 challenger and mustang tht they tested it out against the v8 versions of those cars. yes it lost, but it was tht much better! im not going to say tht i dont want an 8, but im not going to laf at ppl who hav 6s. anyone who owns a camaro(or firebird) is kool in my book.

But they all give my funny looks when I give them thumbs ups from my Hyundai. I guess they don't recognize a former camaro owner when they see one.

Hey call me old fashion but 8 cylinders is my preference and always will be. 300 horses is not no muscle if we talking 6. Its just not the tradition. That plus how rockabilly is a 6? I agree that it's cheaper to do the drop, but im my case its the only new car I will ever buy. With the exception of course being a z28 version. Money is no object I live in a pt cruiser to fund my camaro habits.

Yay for me just bought a 70 1/2 year I looooove it.

This is offensive "pussies" like a cat or a ******? Cause thats comparing a man to a women and I do believe thats nark! And as I am not a man, and I only want the v8's ... can you tell me about that? I have 2 camaros rigged for drafts and nothing else cant even drive on the road legally ... we race for a reason its a money making hobby. I mean no one can drive stick nowadays so women have to! Men stall like non stop its disgusting.

Maybe you should get a "I'd rather be driving a Camaro " bumper sticker made up....
