Absolutely lower it! I've lowered mine and it's by far the best mod I've done. Makes it looks better and drive better. It's win win!

I am in the same boat. I was quoted like 250.00 for the springs but 450.00 to install them. I want to do it but 700 bucks is alot of fun tickets right now.

Done it and love it........do it.
I have Detroit Speed installed, the car dropped 1.5".....no issues with bottoming out. Only issue I encounter is when I will hit an incline of a driveway, and the rubber front air dam will brush against the driveway. No issues on speed bumps. I do back into spots more now, those curb stops in most lots create an issue for the bottom of the front bumper.

I just installed my H&R springs sat/sun. They are 1.7 fronts and 1.8 rear and no bottoming out. Couldn't tell a difference till I hit a pot hole and a few big bumps. It's a little bouncy but definitely worth it. Before I could stick 4 fingers between my tires and fender and now not even two fingers fit. It gives a dramatic look. I also would say to do it yourself. It is very simple but make sure you have the right tools. I spent the same time doing the front passenger with the wrong tools as I did the other three with the right tools. So don't be scared. It's worth it.

have you ever owned a car that bottoms out? it sucks. especially if the car is new, it makes you feel like it's falling apart. and you will bottom out on things that you wouldn't normally think you would bottom out on, not just speed bumps. steep inclines, railroad tracks, crests in the road, etc. the 4th gen camaro had a horrible staggered look stock and needed aftermarket correction; the 5th gen looks pretty good and coming from someone that owned a low car for 7 years, don't do it!

I have zero problems with my car bottoming out. I am careful going up steep driveways (I come in at an angle). But I have not bottomed out.
