I sent my custom painted one as well...they just put the lights in.

Looking closely at your taillights and they're the same ones I have so I must have the SMDs. I thought I had the CCFLs but mine look identical to yours.

CCFLs would look like a thin tube...you wouldn't be able to make out the individual LEDs. If they look like mine then they must be SMD.
