That "All around kick ass car" is gonna have to be AWD if its making 500hp or more. This is the reason why I drive my moderately modified 4wd Cummins powered Ram when the weather get bad. 500whp/1,000wtq 4wd truck is just as much fun as a 500whp car.

Driving in the rain on DR's is an easy way to wreck your ride. If its raining, snowing or below 45 degrees I drive one of my other vehicles even when I have the stockers on my GT500.

yeah, I have a beater jeep cherokee to drive in the snow...and now probably the rain :( I hate driving it, as it's a real POS (89' rustbucket), but I love parking it, cause....who cares!!

That's a lot of horses.

PFFT! Some, indeed. Not many. Meanwhile... looking at it... I'm still going to

Addendum: I brought up a picture of that 800+ FORD. Called out to my wonderful wife who wants a Mini as her next vehicle of choice... and told her... BEHOLD! THE COMPETION!!!! <dramatic pause> ... My wife: "Wow! How cute is THAT? How much is it?" .......

Slogan: "When you want to be cute, drive a Ford Mustang".

Not saying it ain't gonna sell. Yes, yes it will. I'm sayin' it certainly ain't my style. I want a road monster, not a stylin' subdivision soccer mom sycophant.

I agree. It's way too overpriced too.

I been driving drag radials in rain for years... its fine just annoying driving slow. I don't drive in snow. Not till they plow really good & not a drop of snow on road.

Think they ever offer cobra jet with the new 5.8L 600HP when it comes out?

So now way to make cobra jet street legal like a kit car?

I realize that we can all modify a car to be better than it is. However, my point is, from the factory this isn't really big news simply because it can't plant it very well.

$100K for a car with NO warranty? I think I'd buy a Kia 1st.

They are plenty quick and capable of good 60 fts after a massive burnout on a preped track when driven by a capeable owner or good driver. Once you get above 550whp it takes a certain touch to get these GT500 to hook on stock tires which the magazine drivers just don't have. The $111,000 750hp SLP ZL1 Camaro has no problem almost running 10's on 20" street tires. 11.1@129 to be exact.

Well I know first hand since I am back on stock Pirellis since winter..
But it not too bad just have to be easy with first and second hooks better once you get tires nice and warm..
Just have to go back to the days of throttle control because I can spin car around way before traction control goes on.

No sir, not possible. It is legitimately a purpose built race car. No emissions equipment, no airbags, breaks the decibel limit, blah blah blah blah. It's basically a built professional grade drag racer that you can buy from Ford..... Don't know why anyone would even WANT to drive that thing on the street... probably doesn't turn very well... lol
