Tint Laws every state...

This site has the tint laws by state. Just an FYI.

Just an FYI and all that....that form is outdated or just plain wrong. At least for IL.

You can have 35% front/rear. If you use darker than 35% in the rear, you can't use any on the front.

And the law is different for trucks.

It is up to date by state police standard... in town might be different and MPV = Trucks/SUVs.

I just went through all of this last summer with the local shop when I had my Grand Prix and Silverado tinted. Your link doesn't even have the law date correct. It was implemented in the fall of 2009. From 1989 until 2009 NO tinting was allowed.

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/IL/

The bill progress: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/Bill...sion=0#actions

And the actual bill: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publ...?Name=096-0815

So that link/doc hasn't been updated since 2009.

Ok so you're in the 1% that it might not be correct for, but it is still helpful for 99% of people. RELAX! And it IS up to date as to what they were given by the state agencies. If they didn't send the input, they went with what they were last given. And since I've gotten quite a few people say thank you, your criticism is worth nothing to me. Good day sir!

It wasn't meant as criticism, and as you didn't create the document, it's nothing against you. I was just trying to show that the source is wrong and you didn't seem to want to believe me.

Just an update for the list, Texas recently updated their laws (at least after this list was compiled) and 25% is now legal on the sides.

Dude from exp, at least here in NY. Anything around the legal limit will potentially get you pulled over. They love to pull the "oh it looked too dark and i had to check" bs card so justify stopping you for anything.

If you have tints you are making yourself a target despite whether its legal or not, good luck.

I only have anything on the rear side windows, no issues so far, but what I mean by my comment is that I want 5% all around and no worries of ever getting a ticket. (I know it's not legal, so I'm not doing it, but I can dream!)
