Take your tinfoil hat off and look at what real drivers are getting. I can think of two members here that owned a fifth gen, got a 5.0 and ran 12s out of the box. The quickest times are not magazine times, the fastest traps are not magazine traps and the bs comments like yours are exactly what brings the hordes of mustang fanboys here. Do you really, honestly believe that it's all bs and the 5.0 isn't capable of mid 12s? After the countless dynos, private owner runs, videos, timeslips, even camaro owners witnessing such runs? Hate on the car all you want, but do it with real reasoning. Why do you think they feel the need to come in and argue?

I spent last week in meetings with the Big Three. Ford would like to be selling more Mustangs The 'split' launch of the new body with new motor a year later was less than ideal. Dodge Challenger sold at a record pace in March. Ford wrote the book on integrating with the aftermarket. When talking about the Muscle Car segment the consensus is that the Camaro is the hot car. Not a one is complacent. The winners are the consumers as all three watch, learn from each other and improve their products. Life is Good for American Muscle fans.

No I believe that the average joe is lucky to see high 12s out of the car, just like I believe the same for the Camaro. I also believe what I actually see at the track in not so ideal conditions. I could care less about the one time magical passes for either brand, I care about what the car that is lining up with me going to run.

he loves to do that like some of us you shouldn't waste your time. Some just like to ignore the facts and that is just fine. Either way, both cars are capable.

Since this thread was placed into "The 2011+ Mustang Thread", I will at least give an update on the 2013 GT500/SVT Cobra. I was previously trying to dig up any info on the rumored 620hp 2013 SVT Mustang. I got a small tidbit from a guy who knows a guy,who heard from a friend's friend's sister, who is married to a guy that works with guy, that delivers pizza's to the SVT shop at Ford.

While we are talking about a car that is still at least a year away, the expectation that this will be a Shelby GT500 upgrade isn’t necessarily solid. According to reports, Shelby’s current contract with Ford comes up for renewal at the end of the 2012 model year. While nobody is suggesting that Ford would let that one go, there may be some room for negotiation.

If there is any info out there... the Pill will find it.... a piece at a time....
