It's impossilbe for your IAT's to be lower than ambient.

So what were your pre and post numbers?

Your iat is a thermistor, resistance varies as temperature increases or decreases. Humidity combined with air speed can cause the temp reading to go below ambient. It's very similar to the operation evaporative cooling units. This is just an explanation of what the iats were showing that day. (central Florida, mid 70's ambient). When sitting at a light the temp would be a few degrees over ambient. Be careful with the word "impossible" it might let you down one day.

With these two examples, I think term "always" in null and void.

How do you accurately dyno a VaraRam? I don't think you would see a power increase from ram air using cooling fans. I'm not sure that is accurate. The fans supply the wind speed without the volume to force the air with the same pressure as moving along a track.

The VaraRam requires a break-in sequence for 100 miles for computer calibration. I have only seen tests without this break-in.

Love the look of the CAI, but VaraRam got my money.

I think C.a.I. have numbers that may not be beaten in an "untuned" test. Their a/f numbers were good as well as their iat's. I think a controlled "track test" would be where the vararam would shine, but the adm scoop may give the advantage to the CAI. Were talking a tenth or two at best.

Yeah, the thx was about the Orlando and brilliant thing. You can sit at one major intersection here in Orlando and begin to wonder why evolution hasn't thinned out our local population.
To the op, you'll be hard pressed to get unbiased info. Any of them are better than stock After all, it's just a fancy air filter.......
