Front plate in MO
We just got pulled over by one of Missouri's Finest, state rod! He gave us a warning that our front plate needed to be mounted on the front of the car, not in the windsheild. Has anyone had this problem and how is the law written, does the plate have to be mounted or just be visable? I really don't want to drill the front of the car.
Any help would be nice. Thanx |

Yes, it has to be mounted on the bumper.
I will still never run one. |

This is our third camaro, our last one was red and the officer said I just wanted to see how fast that red car was running. No plate on front then and he never said a word. It all depends on the dick on the beat that day!

Don't EVER
I don't have my front plate on and will NOT drill holes in the front of mine either. Knock on wood, I've not been pulled over since 9/2009 for not having the plate on the front. Keep it in my glove box JIC I do, and will let them know my order for one of those flip up holders is arriving soon..wink, wink.
Don't know if that will fly...but, NO WAY are holes being drilled into my babies beautiful wiked smile!

MO DOT says the liscense plate has to be visible and attached front and rear. this what i did http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...iy+front+plate
it holds up over 100, easy peasy and costs less than the ticket. you just have to get use to the eye sore of having a plate on the front.

I think st. louis has a lot of cool cops. I pass a lot on a regular basis, and I've never been pulled over for it. As far as outside of missouri, I can't speak for that. I just think that st. louis cops have a lot of bigger things to worry about than front licence plates

Most of the MO troopers I've met don't say anything. Just one or two have pulled me over for it. I don't really see the big deal, if you get stopped they look at the rear plate to run it, not the front. Just kinda stupid I think.

I had one until a raccoon committed suicide which required a new front fascia. I'm not running one now and don't plan to. I don't expect too much trouble over not running one.

The wife got pulled over a few weeks ago by St. Charles county and she played the oh, did my front plate not come up as we have the motorized show-n-go mount. He said that there wasn't a plate on the car so she asked if she could try it again and he agreed. It came up so he gave her a warning and said that they have been told to start cracking down and that it is a $78 ticket.

I've been driving green and orange Camaros in St. Louis/St. Charles area for over a year without front plate or ticket. A St. Louis County cop pulled over the Synergey Green Machine, and I freaked a little until she said "where did you get that cool car?" She never said a word about the fact I was rolling over the speed limit or driving without a front plate. Its the law and I'm at risk of a ticket but willing to pay the $75 non-moving violation fee to have my front bumper clean. If you get a warning from a cop you will never see again then don't worry about it. If its a cop in your local area, well???? Need to weigh the odds.
