We will be at Rt 66 early as well but I know that some people are wanting to go through the cutoff in Holbrook and some want to keep going on I-40.

Is the game plan to meet at Route 66 at 5 AM or 6 AM?? I have seen both times listed and another one that said meeting at 9 AM? I'm good with the early morning meet...but as Audrey said....I want a plan...Like when do whe meet and when do we leave and where are we planning on stopping...has anyone looked at where there is Premium Gas? I want to do this as a group, but just know that at I17 and Carefree Highway Jim and I will exit off to the West to head to our house!
Also keep in mind that we will be gaining an hour as Arizona is an hour behind us... Just saying!

Just read some other groups post on their convoy plans and they seem to be very organized...even have police escorts to get them onto the freeway!!! They have planned stops for gas and have called ahead to make arrangements for everyone to pull in!

For what it's worth I'm leaving wed for Las Cruces, picking up a old friend and to join up with the big convoy from there. I will be driving my RV with car in trailer and camping at the track. Usually I take the south route from San Diego to Abq and back and shortcut between Deming and Hatch, good road and it cuts off 60 miles. This route I get the best gas milage by not climbing up to 7500ft plus on the N route. I went last year and I think a big part of the fest is the convoys, kick in the as.....
Anyway thats my plan. Hope some of you join in the S route!

Agreed......once you know the roads and know where Smokey likes to camp out, that route is a nice one. Esp since they repaved that stretch between Deming and Hatch. Just gotta be cool about Border Patrol....they tax fools everywhere on that piece right there!

Speaking of getting Taxed.....I have a heck of a lot more to lose now than I did 8 years ago. LOL.....I hardly every break triple digits anymore. Too bad but I kinda want my girls to have me around later and also have some kind of money to buy some Barbies or some shit. Tickets and Speeding have gotten really out of control and the Law is more likely to lock a fella up or Fine them heavily now a days then they were back then.

Anyhoo.....I personally hope to have a solid plan of attack by COB Sunday when/If I hear more from Uncle Sam.

Getting ansy like all Hell....gonna be a great time.

It sounds like the Colorado/Wyoming group will have about 12 cars coming in 2 different groups - but both are planning on meeting Thursday 5AM at the Albuquerque Route 66 Casino for a 6AM departure. We looking to do the Holbrook route unless weather changes our mind. Any idea how many from New Mexico group and Oklahoma group (anybody)

Squirrel, I think just about everyone is planning to meet the huge convoy at the 66 casino at 5am, and depart at 6am.

We are still up in the air due to a meeting Darren has scheduled Thurs am. He has been trying to reschedule, but so far has had no luck. Therefore, we might have to leave slightly later.

Blue, I would guess we have about 20 -30 joining you for the early departure. If we cannot join this group, we'll catch up with you at the fest!!!

Not trying to rain on any parade, but keep a close eye on the weather. I-40 just had some delays because of wind and dust. Flagstaff just got some snow. Might make things interesting on the northern route.
