i never said 2011... but GM has said first quarter '12 so far (hopefully pushed back to a 2013 model) ...like \/\/\/ says below

why release a car thats a half a year old in terms of its release for that model? I had my SS in early Sept. of '09 so I felt like I had a '10 SS for over a year even though the '11s were out mid '10... lol

and thats not even addressing that they are releasing a way less powerful car only months prior to the 620 HP gt 500 ... which is confirmed

Also people here have the silly belief GM will keep the ZL1 under the CTS-V power wise. I disagree with that too.

Personally I think GM would be really stupid if they release it at 550 HP in early 2012 while the 2013 gt 500 will smoke it at the track a few months later... Unless they seriously curb some weight, or do something else to make it keep par with the competition in the 1/4 mile... its a bad move...

Unless of course its a marketing gimic to release a 2013 model later that year with 600+ HP? I just pulled that outta my ass lol and it is probably no where close to the truth

It will be competative. And it will probably be labeled a 2013. Make no mistake GM means to win. No doubt in the pony car wars they are always late to the party, but they always bring the goods.

Don't write off the ZL1 before it has been tested and the true statistics are known. The Chevy Team is reading the same information that you are about what the competition is doing. Sometimes patience is hard but I have confidence in Chevy and the ZL1.

Confirmed by who? All I've read was a bunch of rumors.

So you guys are judging cars when official numbers aren't even out yet, and asking questions when there are no real answers. Makes sense

this thread is mostly about why release a late 2012 model when the 2013s come out a few months later

I'll take a 550+hp ZL1 with PTM that can throw the power down rather than a 620hp GT500 that can win a pissing contest but get smoked at the track.
