Why I ditched CGM

I went with Imperial Blue Metallic. Like you said, something different than the masses. I love the effect of different colors in different lights / angles, but that's just me. IOM would certainly do that too, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it in 5 years. Looking at the cars at the auto show, the Camaro NEEDS a metallic paint to look its best, but that's just my opinion.

It also helps that blue is also the fiance's favorite color, and as much as that shouldn't matter, you're kidding yourself if you think it doesn't!

Now that you mention it, black and grey seem to be overdone. Now thats getting me to reconsider my color.

I see what you're saying, that's why I'm doing two tone. How often do you see two tone vehicles daily?

I've only seen the Camaro in Rally Yellow and Victory Red (both non-metallic) and I thought they both looked amazing. I don't even like yellow and thought it was hot.

Don't get me wrong, they are still a damn cool car with the regular paint. My point is that the metallic just makes them look even better. My opinion is that the metallic just brings out the depth and shine that the "regular" paints don't. My opinion only, I'll still be giving thumbs up to guys in Victory Red and Rally Yellows!

To me, the Camaro is meant to stand out. It desires a color of passion. So, I called my dealer up and switched to IOM. It's not for everyone but I like the color.

I know some people don't want to stand out, they'd rather fit in and not be noticed. But me, I want everyone on the street to see me coming and think "damn, look at that pimp machine."

So what say you? Why'd you pick the color that you did?

For those buying their Camaro as a sunny day weekend driver, the CGM will look awesome. For those using it as a daily driver, cloudy, overcast days will reduce this color to just another drab gray. I currently have a metallic gray car that looks great in the sun, but pretty bland otherwise. Also, that ZR1 always looks good under those autoshow lights.

Yeah I agree. I went with IBM then RJT and then finally VR. Needs to be bright and aggressive looking.

A CGM Camaro with stripes will stand out nicely IMO. Regular CGM will still look good and while it still won't be the most subtle car on the road due to the styling, etc it won't pop the same way some other colors do, which some might prefer.

I picked black cuz black rocks, it looks wicked. I don't care about the sea of cars, all I know is my black Camaro is my black Camaro.

To each their own on their own color choices.

I too switched from solid CGM to IOM. Although I had to add the CGM stripes to really make it pop.

I totally agree with your logic that's exactly why I changed my order.

You don't want orange in Florida, all you'll be missing is the sunkist/minute maid sticker. Orange sucks dump it. NO ONE GET ORANGE IT REALLY BLOWS.

Actually, I really like the yellow. That being said, I just got done with a Yellow Jacket 04 GTO and I'm about all yellowed out. Twas time for a change. Since most of the colors are available on other models I went around to look at them, as well as checked out all the various photochop threads. After really only a couple days of screwing around, I chose RJT; of course the only friggin additional cost color currently available. Really, each person has their own personal color preferences and only God knows where they came from. For me, the RJT is just an outstanding color, but that's only my opinion. No one's color choice is right or wrong.
