Oil in the Intake...

So I was changing my differential and Transmission fluids today and while the Tranny was draining I was going to clean my air filter. I noticed there was some oil running down the heat shield for the CAI. I took the filter off and there was a small puddle of oil in the intake tube right after the air filter. I figure about the only place it could be coming from is the crank vent. What can cause this and what can it hurt? I have the K&N intake with the alluminum intake tube.

Also while I was under the car I noticed there is some oil seeping out from the oil pan gasket in 2 places on the passenger side of the engine. Is this "normal"?

It's why so many have a catch can and no it is not normal for pan gasket to be leaking. I believe there is a TSB about that.

Only TSB I've see about oil leaking is the oil cooler plug getting cross threaded.

It's definitely the waste vapor from the crankcase. It's supposed to be burned off during ignition but some of it is dropping out of the air stream and pooling in your intake. Catch can is the way to go! Then, put a separate clutch fluid reservoir on your LS3. Two best mods IMHO to keep your car running great for a long time.
