O2 sensors

I just installed AR LT headers and a catted x-pipe... front 02 sensors came out of the stock exhaust fine.. Rear ones a different story... half a turn out they both froze up in the stock pipe..had to heat the pipe to remove them and the threads got destroyed..! anyone else have this issue...? had to order new ones from GM...

I had the same problem with one of my rear sensors. None of auto parts stores had part numbers on 2010 Camaro yet, but luckily my dealer had one in stock (for around $60).

The same thing happened to me though nothing happened to the sensors, it was still hell getting them out though.

I used PB blaster and let it soak in...then used an O2 sensor socket to remove them...no problems here...you just have to be delicate when trying to break them loose...

Mine both stuck but I was able to get them out working them back and fourth.and then using a thread file to clean up the threads, they went in ok. I think its really common.

Same here. Just finished. I installed Kooks LTH, had 26k on the 2010 SS. Took the exhaust manifold off complete with cats, sprayed PB blaster on, let them sit for 15 to 30 minutes, came out with no problems.

Just installed Solo HF cats & Mach XL w/ J-pipes exhaust. 2 hour install turned into 6.5 hour clusterf... 3 of the 4 oxygen sensors were seized up. Had to use PB blaster and then carefully use die to recut the threads. 50 miles on the exhaust and no code. Love the sound hated the "easy" install. Tim "the toolman" Taylor's got nothing on me!

I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get all four out with liquid wrench and an end wrench. My friends however .... Not so lucky he went 2 for 4. What a pain.

13 posts and noone mentions heating them up I thought everyone knew that you need to heat the exhaust bung with a torch before removing them... Then they come out like butter. You can get a little butane torch at lowes for $15.

then put antisieze on the sensors before reinstalling them.
