Am I the only one being treated badly for the car I drive?

Here's a new one for you. I was driving my wife's convertible, right after getting a new exhaust put on for her, and this big a$$ truck pulls up beside me (drivers side) reving his engine at the stop light. So we start to cruise casually through the intersection and then he punches it. Well, huge black cloud of exhaust comes from his pipe and guess where the pipe was! Right at my head level on his passenger side. After I recovered from the face full of exhaust, he was through the next light and I was trapped behind another car.. I'm on the lookout for this guy though!

Had that happen to me once.. Cop pulled me over and let the truck go (I was in a Steeda Mustang) --- Figures.. Guess he just stereotyped me.. Anyways, I had someone following me that confirmed I did nothing to provoke the incident so the cop just grumbled and left..

I have definitely experienced this. Back when I had the Vette, didn't matter how nicely I was driving, someone was going to want to be stupid on the road.

The biggest thing that would tick me off would be when trying to get on (or off) interstate and a car would match your speed to try and prevent you from going on/off. I don't understand people's incessant need to try and slow down a sports car by acting like a fool.

I dont mind the driver next to me revving an engine at a stop light out of fun but, for instance this morning, the highway goes down from 3 lanes to 2 for construction and this silver older model grand am in the right lane finds himself behind a dump truck so he blantantly pulls into my lane. I really had to make a split second decision to LET him hit me or slam on the brakes. He saw me. No question. Also no question that if I held my lane he was going to hit me. I have never been in a significant accident but knowing a repaired car isnt the same as a new one and not to mention whether this clown had any insurance at all... Acting on perservation and instinct, I stomped the brake and threw it into 2nd gear to yield the lane. An orange light briefly lit up on the dash board, not sure what it was. I was just furious!

Problem is, this isnt an isolated incident. At least once a week, I am driving the speed limit, listening to the stereo and some jerk will stop short or swerve in front of me for no apparent reason other than to piss me off.

I can only imagine they assume that because I am driving a sports car that I must be some douche bag, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It IS making me want to start driving that way though. If I inherit that reputation just by getting behind the wheel, I might as well live up to it, no?

Any one else being treated like this on the road?

I was in the farthest two stalls the other day, and the establishment was not even close to being busy. Some jackass in a ford F250 (yes that was his first mistake) parks so close to my car, my girlfriend couldnt even walk through. He had to have climbed out the passenger side of the truck to get out. I left a nice (ok not so nice) note on his P.O.S.

You are right on all the above !And it is usually a ford driver that does it . I have parked way out across a parking lot, and low and behold a ford truck way out there beside my car! I guess a 25 acre parking lot is not big enough ?

Oh, yes indeed!! Guys in pickups always want to race me! When a guy pulls up and sees its a girl driving a fast car, the race is almost always on.

I get it here and there.. usually its some idiot in a wrx or a civic. They start their aggressive driving and 2/5 times..a cop got them down the road..thats when i just hang a gear to make noise at the speed limit. lol

Yup happens a lot. The last time it happened it was a bad day for me and I had enough of these jokers. This guy in a Ford Fusion decides to run up on me 1 of 4 cars in traffic on the freeway. I was in the #2 lane. He flew up behind me probably from 90ish and then slams on his brakes right up my a$$. Then lets off and back on my a$$. Did that a few times, I just shook my head (he cant see me as my windows are tinted). He then swerves into the #3 and cant pass so he slams his brakes and back behind me, swerves into the # 1 just as the car next to me passes and moves over into my lane in front of me. As this tool passes me he looks over and gives me a glare. I just looked over kinda raised my hands as to say, what the heck did I do (still being nice). As traffic gets slower I can see #1 slowing more than my lane. There are about 2 car lengths between me and the car ahead as we slow, then 1 then about ½ as we come to a almost stop. He at that point turns right and I needed to slam on my brakes so we don’t hit, all the time hoping I don’t now get rear ended. At this point I am done. So I follow him, not on his ass but follow him. I follow him off the freeway and to a store parking lot. I wasn’t able to park next to him. So I see him get out. I run from where I park as he walks to the store, and I run right up to his back. I just stay there looking around him like I need to pass but cant, I mean I was right up next to him, it was great. He was a little guy, I guess he no longer has the “power” of his car and is all weirded out by me behind him. Not knowing it was the guy in the Camaro he was jacking with. I do this all the way to the store entrance, and then I pass him and cut right in front of him so he has to stop as I go for a cart. He says in a cracking voice “dude I am sorry but you can go just around, and.. ” before he finishes I say “its totally different when you’re in a car huh. What the hell gives you the right to drive like an ass. You could have killed someone. I was in that Camaro.” He says “ oh sorry, sorry, I was jus..just in a hurry” I said "didn’t look like it once you got off the freeway and to here. But I suggest you not do that anymore", him, “ok, ok. Thanks” I go back to my car and on my way.

I don’t suggest anyone do this as people today, you never know what they might do or have. But that was it, it was all I could take that day. Sorry for the longer read.

My only experience with that is with mustang owners. As well from young 16 yr old kids who think i'm going to race them. Because they rev their engines with their loud butt trumpets on a 4cylinder neon (thats falling apart none the less). I get it you are proud of your ride, that's cool i was at that age too (because it was mine). Although i did not do such douchy things.
