Add stainless steel brake lines and some good pads.
Add subframe connectors
Replace the original and worn out struts (McPhersons).
Maybe add some lowering (stiffer) springs or just replace the fronts.
I have a set of 15" firebird wheels I put some good R compound tires on for track use only.
Yank out all the smog pump crap and disconnect the A/C.
Maybe a better set of gears... 3.55 or something.

THOUGHTS??? Am I insane for doing that to this car? I don't want to use the 2010. Something about tearing up a $37,000 car doesn't seem right to me.
All that sounds more than enough for a decent autox worthy car, can you get them all done before this Sunday??? I agree though, if you're actually going to autocross seriously the 89 would be a better idea than a brand new 35k+ Camaro to tear up at the track. I just have to see how bad I'll be on my baby this weekend

I'm going to run it as is and get a baseline run then start adding slowly. I want to see how she's going to behave. She's a sassy bitch sometimes so before I go hog wild, I want to get her feet wet.

The car is OK stock but a little loose. I don't expect great runs. The front struts are soft and without subframe connectors, the 1-4 gen cars are really flexible. I do have the benefit of having a fixed roof (no ttop).

The stock brakes are fine. New pads and fluid 3000 miles ago. All I will do this week is change the oil.

Drew and I would loop up from the south off 471/275 so not really a good meeting spot.

We can discuss though. I think BumbleBeeAmigo is going and he's from West Chester or something.

Hmmm good point, I'll see if he responds to this thread. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you guys can still get at the airport exit and we could meet up at a gas station around there or something. Is anyone else coming, a friend of mine could be with me in his Scion Tc so we'll have to be nice.

Lol, I'm sure the tC would give the IROC a fair run!

Well we will figure it out as it gets closer. Keep tabs on this thread.

Alright, sounds good. I know, I'm afraid he's going to beat my time since he's a lot lighter than me!!

What class you and he run in? I bet you are in different classes. The 2010 SS and the 89 IROC are both F-stock. Hardly seems fair but the SCCA folks say that the IROC may give a stock 2010 SS a run for it's money... I guess the 3rd gens are much lighter and handle very well... We shall see... Hope for nice weather!
