The steering wheel that fell off the Cruze was the wrong one. They changed the fixture that installs it so it will only work with the correct steering wheel. This only happened on ONE car,but naturally all the GM haters made a big deal out of it.

A lot of things are different. The list of unique parts is substantial.

now - had we actually used the Cruze steering wheel and 'tweeked' the suspension and added some stiches - but that would not be appropriate for a 45th anniversary edition........the car is too legendary.

I do recall some saying that the 35th was a waste of money......we agreed to build 3,000 for the U.S. -- and they sold out in less than a month........

I guess it all resides in the eye of the beholder.

Question: What would YOU have done for a 45th?
The Main thing I would like to see added is a 3.73 gear option for the SS.
I bet 70% of V8 buyers would add that option in a heart beat.

Edit: overall its a good refresh.

No way this group fully represents the camaro customer base. They dont represent me.
Not to bash those guys or anything, prob a great group of people, but to say you listen to a small group of people and equate that to listening to your customer base is just wrong to put it lightly.

Gee i wonder how i could get accurate feedback from my real customers?
Its not that hard, but for some reason most companies struggle with this simple task. In this day and age, its easier than ever to reach out to your customer base but yet last i checked no one is really doing that in a meaningful way.

Sure this site is a great resource for chevy, but even this site (as large as it is) is not an accurate representation of the customer base, so how can a small group of "Disciples" be.

If i were GM, i would use Onstar to initiate a direct one to one relationship with my customers. They could have onstar reps ask you if you wanted to take a short survey about your experience with a new car say 6months to a year after you purchase it. And also let it be known that you can call up onstar any time and give your feedback.
Who else in the auto industry could pull this off as easily with existing tech? No one. So why isnt GM doing this already?

I don't want this to sound like I'm flaming you........

BUT-- every one of the disciples is known in their community. Webmasters, moderators, web owners, club presidents, and all of them are on the internet constantly. They represent all 4 generations of camaro - plus Firebird, and Corvette. 8 men, 7 women - from all over the U.S. and Canada. And they are constantly talking with fellow enthusiasts.....and many of them are talking to competitor owners........NONE of them are 'bashful' Show me another automotive manufacturer that has done this.......

ON TOP OF THAT......

Extreme number of Focus Groups as well as "Garage Visits'

I've had gatherings of Camaro/Firebird people at dozens of autoshows - allowing people to ask questions and give us feedback........

The Camaro Team is on this and many other sites - most of them are invisible...... Me invisible? Not so much.

If you think that we're going to learn tons more by talking to every owner.....I think you're mistaken in the larger sense. Yes, we'll get 'ones and twos' of issues - but at some point you reach the law of diminishing returns.

As I type this, I'm in Chandler awaiting a whole buncha Camaro people to arrive - and there are 5 more of the Camaro Team on their way......we'll spend the weekend talking with enthusiasts - as we do thru-out the year.........

Soooooooooooo - for the love of all that's good and great - tell me how we are not LISTENING to the Customer.....I'm begging you to help me understand this...........

If you show me another company that approaches what we do.......I'll send you my first-born...........

Sorry to sound a bit 'terse' -- but I spend nearly EVERY day of the year talking to our customers..........

I do like most of the upgrades and really wanted a 45th, but it won't be black on black. Maybe I'll do the new CRM, and just stick those side badges on. I have a brother with a Carbon Flash Saturn Outlook w/black leather. It's like getting in an oven, and covered in a million swirl marks. Not for me.

go look at the penetration reports - - and notice how many Camaros sold are black.........and while you're at it - go get a copy of the CAmaro White Book -- and look at the number and percentage of 4th gen Camaros (and Firebirds) are black...........you may be surprised!

The anniversary isn't for everyone..............

Ok IMO the multi colored stripe looks absolutely terrible and as much as I like the old tri color logo this one just looks....cheap. On the bright side I love the modifications to the interior, especially the leather on the dash. This really makes me wonder though...the 2LT model V6 now has the same interior as the ZL1 (without the optional suede)....

Personally Fbodfather, though I can point out a few things on the ZL1 I'm not a huge fan of, I appreciate GM and people like yourself taking the time to interact with joe shmoe, me being one of them. I'm maybe well known in some venues and locals though the consumer base for a corporation like GM is staggering. I come no where close to that and even I feel overwhelmed at times. So thank you man, thanks for being part of something I love and being so accessible to the general public! RIGHT ON!

OH yeah. . . the red white and blue stitching is WIN!

for the V6 I would have lots of gears options and a turbo/twin-turbo/supercharger option. so many people want these as options and are turning to the aftermarket to get these when it could be a wicked option from the factory for the 45th.

Btw I just noticed that the pictures taken very clearly hide the radio. Perhaps it is getting a redesign afterall? Might just be wishful thinking..

While theres bits of the 45th I love (stitching, decal, panel insert) i'd oh so dearely love it in IOM, could even live with the black leather

Just wondering if were going to get some more pics of the new 2012 interior on a standard camaro (not the 45th) as id like to see some more detail around the interior changes, only thing I dont like is the steering wheel, I'd like to get the one that says Camaro on it, option maybe? Failing that anyone know how hard it is to change out the steering wheel (cover)?

I can't believe how many of you are so willing to sell your cars for a few simple changes...many of which are a step in the wrong direction. You're going to take a bath on your trade in, and still have about the same car. After all...11 horsepower really ain't no big whoop.
I went by my local dealer today (Classic Chevrolet) to look at the new camaros. They had 76 of them on the lot...more on the used lot...and probably more in the back. There were 7 convertibles and 4 red jewel tint coupes. By far, the most rare camaro was the 1LT...which they had exactly 1.
These cars are common now, so don't expect too much for a trade in.

Scott, just to hear from the other side. Although I am not a deciple, I do believe the group that you/Chevy picked had all of our interests at heart. There is no way that everyone can be pleased, no matter how hard new ideas are looked at and scrutinized. However... should a spot open up in the deciple group, I would like to throw my hat into the ring for consideration. Personally I cannot wait for the ZL1 to arrive, I am more excited about this car than any of the Corvettes that I have owned, including the 1999 that we took a museum delivery on. Enjoy your time at C5F2. We both wish we could join you but we look forward to seeing you again at C5F3. Please thank everyone on the Camaro Team for doing a great job on this car that we all love. And thank you also for bearing the brunt of criticism sometimes. Keep the faith...
