ABL? Do you mean the lighting in the doors? I hope not!

Agreed. People still have to look down at the regular radio, for example, to select songs off their iPod. Also, navigation is offered on nearly every other GM model as does its competition. So, are you implying you want the other models to be less safe? I don't think so in the least. The lack of navigation is frankly the only thing I'm amazed to not see as an option yet.

I mean anyone who actually says the Mustang is not a good looking car and a damn fine performer needs to be woke up , but the camaro looks way better and I am just such a Big fan of Camaros through and through so I will be getting one, and if my M6 tranny screws up on me, I'll get it replaced over and over and over again if I have to, just so I can have the car that I know in my heart that I want the most.

OMG i HATE HATE HATE Mustanks, ok ok jokes not really, though I admit the rivalry is fun and I ham it up.

GO GO CAMARO! <3

And I see that some of these same people are the ones bitching about the car already being too heavy. The power passenger seat falls into the same category as well I suppose
I prefer a screen based GPS over OnStar mainly because of the detail a map can show. Telling me distance in feet to my turn is far less informative than having a map that mirrors the streets I'm seeing. I guess I just prefer the visual cues.

Also, using the windshield mount and plugging in power to a phone/GPS is tedious. I always expect to be the victim of a smash & grab, so every time I park I stow my electronics. And in-dash nav would eliminate this tedium.

As for the dangers associated with looking down at a NAV screen, I do see fbodfather's concern. I think the popup NAV in the CTS is one solution (perhaps where the center speaker grill is?). Another very high-tech option could be to use a color HUD and project a simplified map on the windshield. Not oversimplified as OnStar does now, but maybe a basic streets view in red and the route/speedometer in blue. Again, I just feel a map view is inherently better.

Devon, we've had street signs for a few years now. Their clarity and ease of use are major reason why GPS and NAV are so popular.

Not to bash those guys or anything, prob a great group of people, but to say you listen to a small group of people and equate that to listening to your customer base is just wrong to put it lightly.

Gee i wonder how i could get accurate feedback from my real customers?
Its not that hard, but for some reason most companies struggle with this simple task. In this day and age, its easier than ever to reach out to your customer base but yet last i checked no one is really doing that in a meaningful way.

Sure this site is a great resource for chevy, but even this site (as large as it is) is not an accurate representation of the customer base, so how can a small group of "Disciples" be.

If i were GM, i would use Onstar to initiate a direct one to one relationship with my customers. They could have onstar reps ask you if you wanted to take a short survey about your experience with a new car say 6months to a year after you purchase it. And also let it be known that you can call up onstar any time and give your feedback.
Who else in the auto industry could pull this off as easily with existing tech? No one. So why isnt GM doing this already?
good points and bad points
but I'll reserve my comments

Im so glad they listened to the complaints about the passenger seat issue. Looks like I might be getting into a camaro again. I wonder what the pricing will be. Hopefully its reasonable and not out of my price range. So does the 2012 model year still come with the ABL door lighting?

If one were to remove the IP panel -- you would find that there is zero space to put in a 'pop-up' Nav Screen.

I have test driven the CTS Coupe and the navigation screen is very easy to see and use. This type of system should easily fit into a reconfigured Camaro dash. However the navigation option, which includes a 40GB hard drive among other goodies, costs over $2,100 (comes standard in the "Premium" trim).

A decision was probably made to keeps costs low, which is why the Camaro interior is rather "light" on technology when compared to other vehicles in the $25,000-$35,000 price range.
