I THERE SOMETHING MY DEALER HAS TO DO AFTER ORDER PLACED?

SOMETIMES I WONDER IF MY DEALER KNOWS WHATS GOING ON. I PLACED MY ORDER. HAVE AN ORDER #. I AM PRIORTY # 1. MY STATUS IS STILL 1100. DOES THE DEALER ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER OR AS LONG AS THEY HAVE AN ALLOCATION AND MY CAR HAS NO CONTRAINTS WILL THE ORDER MOVE ON THRU THE SYSTEM. THIS IS A LARGE DEALER IN THE METRODENVER AREA BUT I WONDER IF THEY REALLY UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS. THEY HAVE GIVEN ME THE WRONG INFO IN THE PAST AND I JUST SEEM SO ENVIOUS OF THE GUYS THAT HAVE ALREADY MOVED UP TO 3400. IS IT JUST LUCK OR DOES THEIR DEALER KNOW SOMETHING THAT MINE DOES NOT? DO THEY HAVE TO RESPOND TO SOMETHING ON THE CONCENSUS REPORT SAYIG TO PROCESS MY ORDER OR DOES IT JUST HAPPEN AUTOMATICALLY? PLEASE HELP!

This is the same process as ordering other cars. They should know how to do it. That said, if they've got everything in right, once they receive allocation, it should move along automagically.

Then why are our orders still at 1100, when we are told they have a march allocation?

I'm not a dealer so I'm not familiar with the exact process so I really can't answer the question but today they got the final actual allocations (the consensus just told them how many they can expect). I would keep in touch with them and find out if yours will be getting pushed through this week. They probably have one person who does the actual ordering so you may want to talk to them.

An intentional typo.

If the dealer has allocation then the order will show up in Pass One on Thursday. If it "passes"(buildable with no constraints), the dealer does nothing and then has until Tuesday to make any changes. As long it is the highest priority and is a buildable, the dealer just sits back and watches. Then on Wednesday, it will show up on the "In System" tab and the TPW will follow the following Wednesday.

Very simple.

Everyone seems to get hung up on event codes. While they are informative, all that matters is when it goes from the "placed" tab to the "in system" tab and then to the "in transit" tab. Then it's on it's way and when it arrives, it arrives. The dealer can call and mark it "hot" but when it's there, it's there.

Dear Ricky,

Sorry about that. I should have said "usually" the TPW follows the following Wednesday. This is GM, remember?

Is your order in the "in system" tab or still in the "placed" tab?

Lucy

PS How come there's no quote button on your post?? (Now it's there.)
