The carbon fiber and skull design are HYDRO DIPPED. Then the stripes were painted on and everything was cleared.

i've been wanting to do this for a long time. i'm so happy this weekend was beautiful and now, so is my engine bay!!!! degreased with warm water/dish soap and wiped down with alcohol. i used an adhesion promoter, krylon fusion, & krylon clear engine enamel. i didn't sand it and i think it still looks great! still a work in progress...maybe some decals or emblems later. the first on the list of many planned mod's now that winter is FINALLY GONE!!!!

Skull one is finished and installed...any one with a V6 I have a spare cover and can have any design done with a wrap for a reasonable price... I used a carbon fiber look along the outside of the skull with a green base..

Thanks for the inspiration all. Here's what I did with mine. Two tone Cyber Gray Metallic in the center and (liquid silver on the sides) An Audi color. I had some left over from my TT. Also blacked out the bow tie, since I did the same on the outside of the car.

Folks....tell me. Thinking of painting my cover this weekend. Aside from washing it and ensuring it's clean...is it totally necessary to sand it before you paint it, and during?

nope, not unless you want it to have a more smooth look to it.

all i did was use Krylon fusion paint doing light coats to prevent tape lines.
