I got the escort 9500 Ix radar detector and shifters and have not been pulled since. laser is hit or miss alot of places they are not in the budget and still use radar but shifters are a must buy the time the laser is picked up you are done for shifters will block it and it works had my brother test his on my car and he is a deputy. gotta pay to play

That depends on where you are in Missouri. In the KCMO area, it is quite common.

I'm pretty sure he means a game in that you have a radar/laser detector, he has a radar/laser gun. If you get caught speeding, you lose and your consolation prize is a ticket. If you don't get caught, you win that round.

The ticket is because you were trying to use the radar/laser detector to not get caught and you did.

sorry should have specified. yes if I stop you for speeding and you have the laser/radar detector chances are you're going to get a ticket. Unless you're in a Camaro, then we'll probably BS about how fast we have gone. Also keep in mind that i work the highway alot where the speed limit is 65mph, and I wont even look up unless you are doing over 80mph. I think that is a pretty big cushion compared to troopers and some other officers I know.

Thanks for the clarification and fair enough.

Lidar is very common in DE. My dept uses all Laser except for our traffic unit which has one Stalker radar unit that they use in their unmarked car when they can't ride on motorcycles. Most of the other depts around here have both Lidar and Stalker units with them at all times.
I always say that I wouldn't spend a fortune on a detector, but if it saves you one time I guess it has paid for itself. Like everyone else has said your detector for Laser is only going to tell you when you are busted if it goes off at all.
As far as these shifters or jammers. I personally have never run across a car I couldn't clock as long as I saw them with enough time to get the laser on them. Just remember this: A detector, jammer, or otherwise is only going to help if you are close to the speed limit. If you do get an alert you are only going to have a short amount of time to get slowed down. If you have a jammer or shifter and you are going well in excess of the speed limit, I can still pull you over and will be able to articulate a violation. For example if you are buzzin' down the road at 80+ in a 55 I will be able to cite you for unsafe or unreasonable speed even if I don't get a reading.
Drive carefully and try to keep it close to the limit Be nice to your officers cause ya never know-- they may be a Camaro fanatic like you are.

Laser Interceptor rates the highest. 3 friends have them up here and if laser is being used, they are unbeatable. Radar now...a different story.

Dude hollywood youre the man!

But seriously folks, the best radar jammer, radar detector, is your MIND!

Using intelligence you can avoid any ticket.

If you see a bunch of cars stopping in front of you there is probably a cop.

Dont speed in any area that you cant perfectly see a clear route ahead of you.

Watch out around exits, over passes, foliage, and curves.

If you cant see perfectly ahead that there are no cops then dont speed until you get through that area.

The list goes on and anytime Ive been actively paying attention and using this deductive reasoning Ive been able to speed my ass off and not have any trouble. All the tickets Ive gotten involved me not really paying attention.

Yeah, agreed except I normally don't start pulling over til' 20 over (15 over only if its 25 mph residential), but then you can pretty much expect to get stung. sorry actually the only 5TH GEN Camaro I clocked 20+ over was 98 in a 55 but he was on the other side of the hwy across the guardrail. I just wanted to see how fast he was going no way that i could ever get near him.

Ha, probably not too many. I've heard that VA and NC are pretty strict. Hell at 10 over around here I'd have to pull over half the cars on the road. They pass me even in a marked car between 5-10 over on a multi-lane road. And as long as you are nice and the speed is below 30 over I knock everything down to 5 over so its the min fine and points. 30 over here is a mandatory suspension. Once you get to 40 over then I don't knock it down at all. At that speed you better be bleeding out and trying to get to the ER.

Alot of truth in this post too. Very important to pay attention.
Especially when you are in an unfamiliar area like out of State. Watch to see if the in State cars are staying very close to the speed limit-- that will indicate whether or not there is alot of police presence in a particular area.
