2010 Pace Car #44's NEW Engine Compartment

Figured I'd post this picture. The weather was pretty nasty here today so I took advantage of it and put some new goodies on the engine. The compartment is just about complete. I'm missing about 3 x more small mods. just finished putting everything on today.

Sorry for the dark picture. The wife has the good camera in Charlotte and I had to use my iPhone. Still have to add the engine plate on the cover.

Looks great. I'm guessing maybe those 3 mods left are strut tower caps, engine cap replacements and dipstick replacement? I swear the most time consuming mod i made under hood was the dipstick handle replacement. Had to saw off the loop then drill a hole through fat part of plastic and screw the new handle through. Was a PIA to get the screw through perfectly straight. Took several retries and regrinds to get it perfect.

Looks really sharp though. Nice way to spend 2k...

Actually, the mods will not include changing out any caps or handles. Since this is #44 of only 294, I'll leave those items in place. The mods I've done thus far, aside from the ARH's and remaining exhaust items, can be removed in under 30 minutes, taking it back to bone stock original, which is where I want to keep it. The exhaust would take a little longer, but I have everything to do that as well stored in the garage. If by engine cap replacement you mean the engine cover, I had it painted diamond white in the center with the IMO stripe added to match the hood. The original was the same ebony color as the outside of the cover.

Tower brace is a high probability, strut caps are on the list in a carbon fiber mode and a bow tie on the hood blanket. That will complete the engine compartment for this one. Don't want to go mod crazy, which is very easy to do, not with it being such a limited edition car. I like to show it, hence, the "makeover".
