I didn't go this year, because its technically a 2 day's drive. As long as the trip is a 1 day drive, I am good. I refuse to drive half the week to spend time somewhere for less than a week.

I made the trip from Atlanta and was glad I did. I have to say that drive was amazing... stopping and picking up new people on the way and seeing the convoy get bigger and bigger and bigger. I had a permagrin the entire way in that convoy. This was by far one of the best trips I have been on.

Angry Do not complain

I was planning on going. Hell, I got the hotels set up this year as I did last year going to C5Fest. At the end, I needed to back out due to cost.:( Do not be bitter the Fest is on the other side of the country. It needs to be somewhere, and as many have stated, it was on the East Coast last year, and many of us made it, and really pushed for another. It was a blast!

Participation is what made it so great. Many could not participate from the west, because like many, they thought it was to far, or they did not plan well enough for their job to release them. We bought them to drive them. I have had mine for 23 months, and have 37k on it. It has gone to Ga twice, outer banks, Nc. Maine, New York, Albuquerque Nm, and all over that gorgeous state of Nm. Hell, I brought 80lbs of Green Chiles back from NM in August dry iced in the trunk! This car is so comfortable to drive. It is a great experience.

Next year, I expect to see everyone in this thread signed up for the fest. No excuses about work, because with proper planning for request off, most should have no problems. If funds are an issue, ride out with a person and share the cost. On long trips, a co-pilot is a nice thing (I wont let you share in the driving with my car though)...

Enjoy the photos, the communication others are willing to send back, and release the feeling of being slighted. We are here to have a great time and to meet others with the same intrest.

Very well said.

I've had my Camaro since October. Been to Valdosta for the C5 South Eastern Region End of the Year Blow Out, The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, Fayetteville, NC for Camaro's for Hero's, and now am sitting in AZ at C5F II and going to Oshawa in June. All of these trips were accomplished with a little planning and scheduling at work, a few brown bags lunches and not so many happy hours on Fridays. The whole point of having a car like the Camaro is to enjoy it. I've put 12,406 miles on my car in six months and I promise you I enjoyed every single inch those tires rolled!

So don't bash on the folks that hold events that aren't next door to your home. If you just can't go for whatever reason, be happy for those that can, life is too short to be mad about what you cannot control. Make your own event and put your town on the map, send me an invitation and I'll see you there.

Get out, see your America and Drive that damn Camaro!!!

That was how I felt last year, loved it here on the west this year. But I would like to see mid America so we can all make it from now on
