And you are saying that it was installed and run before a weeks' time had passed to allow for this "curing" to take place? If not, this is an irrelevant point...

The failure on mine was on the diff end. No it wasn't installed and run, but during assembly as Frank explained it, the aluminum joint on the diff end is inserted first and then the assembly is turned over and the joint for the trans end is inserted into the tube and it takes several hammer blows to get it to seat all the way into the tube. He says he suspects that the movement/action of hammering the trans end is causing too much glue to squeeze out of the diff end. He's going to cut mine down the middle to see where glue went and how much stayed in the area of the joint.

He said he let mine sit for 2 weeks before shipping it so it would have been fully cured. This guy makes shafts for all kinds of racing, including Nascar teams, drift teams, drag teams, etc. I spent awhile talking with him last saturday and I'm sure he'll get this worked out.

Here you can see what mine looked like. Nothing was actually damaged, the tube was just spinning on the joint because the glue let go.

Here's some pics of my diff, got it out today. Good news is that the case wasn't damaged, just the junk Richmond 3.73 ring and pinion. I can't wait for the new Lingenfelter AAM 3.91 gears to get here. I shouldn't be able to break them....

If your stock and break something at the track during camarofest there are plenty of witnesses to void your warranty :(

On the car that rolled the tire off the rim... does anyone know the wheel/tire size combo they were using? I saw a photo that showed the tire was a Conti but I can't make out the size...

Mindz posted in his Fest thread that the wheel was 11" and the tires were 295 thinking the tire was too small for that wide of a thread.

Thanks... I was a little concerned as I'm running a 285 on a 10". Mines not quite as stretched as his.

Did he say what air pressure he was running on the track?

I'm running my stock rims with the original PZero 275's on the front rims and PZero 305's on my rear rims and ran it hard on the Pfadt course and never had a bit of trouble. I ran 30 psi cold tire pressure all the way around and checked the tire temps after coming off the track each session and the inner edge was at 140 degrees and outer edges were at 130 degrees...perfect! The tire pressure is not as important as running as high a pressure as possible while keeping the inner edge of the tread slightly higher than the outer edge. Then you are assured that you are gripping with the whole width of the tire. If the outer edge is higher, then you know that your tires are overinflated.
So if anyone is worried about this combination, worry no further.

Great info, I am too new in my build to be running auto X but I might some day.. My goal now, as of the last two days is joining the 200 mph club at the Texas Mile... Timing, race fuel and a little more boost should get me there... I want to try for 1000 hp at the rear wheels and see what happens...
