Overall, it looks like a great car. Just two things that jumped out at me that no one else has mentioned yet.

1. No V-6?
2. Anyone else reminded of the Taurus by the front (particularly the hood-line)?

It'll take a V6 but with CAFE looming over GM's shoulder, it seems as though a 250+ HP 2.0T will have to do.

I really like this, you can definitely see Camaro cues with the tail lights and especially with the two main gauge bezels. I'm sure it will be a big hit in its market segment. Nice job once again GM!

Looks like my 2009 Malibu will be traded in for a 2013 Malibu LTZ

Love it looks fantastic GM has yet another real winner here

Looks like Becky will get two new orders from me soon (2012 45th Anniv Camaro Vert, and 2013 Malibu)

Sean

You do realize that you're now obligated to post pictures of your new Malibu and Camaro in the garage with both their tails lit up, right?

With CAFE V-8 Sedans are Dead, Expect for those the a normal person can't afford (CTS-V Sedan). And V-6 Sedans are on the endanger list.

Before someone says it, I have not forgotten the New Charger. Dodge can get away with it because they Don't have any to match the:
CTS-V Coupe
CTS-V Sedan
Corvette ZR1
Corvette Z06 (The Viper is.......What is the current status?)
Camaro ZL1

With CAFE you will only be able to get V-8. If it fits One or More of the Following:
Impractical for most buyers with a family (Coupe 2+2)
Very Impractical (2 Seater Coupe)
Starting price of $50,000+
Limited Production

Ford already has an Ad about their Direct Injected V-6 with ECO Boost that provides V-8 Power in the F-150.

I think you are being too gloomy and doomy. This isn't the 70s, todays tech can allow V6s to get over 30 MPG highway. In midsize sedans the V6 is still viable with a high MPG 4 banger (remember the 4 bangers FAR outsell the V6s). As for FOrds ecoboost, IMHO, a lot of hype for not enough gain. The Hemi Rams get 20 MPG Highway compared to the Ecoboosts 22 MPG (both 2wd models). Heck even the 5.0 in Fords F-150 is rated at 21 MPG. I think V8s will stick around for a bit longer, just with a lot more tech and smaller displacements. As for the Vipe, late 12 as a 13 model, mules on the previous chasis/body have already been spotted testing the new Stability programs.

Supposedly the 2013 Malibu Eco will do 38 MPG on the highway. Waiting for official word at 12 EDT at New York.

That would be a pretty big leap if it did. Not quite the magic 40 mpg, but pretty close to it.
