Hot Rod Magazine Camaro Article
In the June 2011 Edition of the HotRod Magazine there is an article
"Got a '10-'11 Camaro? Here's What's Gonna Break" For all of us doing mods..I think this is a copy we should pick up. Some good stuff. I would post the article, but I have a feeling it's copyright infringement...(ADDED LINK BELOW) http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/g...e/viewall.html Last edited by Nvincent4708; 08-09-2011 at 11:41 AM. I see that HotRod also did this for Dodge and the failures seem to line up very evenly. In other words, high horsepower may wear/break/explode stuff.
From this list and the one I saw for Dodge, nothing creeps out at me that says epic fail on the part of the manufacturer other than the known TSB items. Thanks for hookin us up with the info!

Whatever... how many vettes and camaros are pushing these motor's to 5-700hp with no problems. Most N/A cammed and bolt-on cars are running fine... is that a list of things that CAN happen, shure but anything can happen at anytime even on a bone stock engine! Hell look at old school engines, they had all kinds of weak points and were much worse off, but how many 1970 500+hp big blocks run the streets and track for years with stock bottom ends! Nothing like scaring people out of modding your car!

If you are willing to spend the money on the engine to increase power, you had better be ready to spend money on ALL supporting systems. That is the price of performance. If not, go to either a ZL-1 or an aftermarket group that sells their higher HP cars with a warranty. (e.g. LPE, THR, Nickey, Berger, Hennessey, etc.)

No flame on you man! Thats cool that they at lest show fixes for the issue's but they make it seem like mod your engine and expect it to break.

If that article is accurate, it sounds like a MUST READ for anyone modding their car.
Thanks for posting this info!
