![]() We had half the shop down in Atlanta with the Z06 over the weekend (Which went rather well) and the other half flew out to Russia to go mod / tune 12+ Mustangs so it has been a VERY busy / stressful couple of weeks. Back on topic: I will post some "Done" pics as soon as I have the pricing finalized. We are working a new angle on the tuning side of things and that is all the car is waiting on to hit the dyno. Once I have more info I will post it up here ![]() Jeff Last edited by IPSjeff; 04-21-2011 at 11:31 AM. |

These are the turbo guys we hear the most about -- Jim505 drives his car all the time -- Z drives his car all the time -- MyWorld took his from winter storage to the shop and will be driving it daily soon. -- I could drive mine daily, but I have another car and a truck to drive so I keep tinkering with mine when I have spare time. By comparision, these are the NO2 guys -- ROD1 has had issues with jets and plugs, but drives his all the time -- RHD has had issues with jets (I think) and the selenoid but drives his all the time -- PoorMansCamaro is still getting his setup but drives it all the time. Those are the two FI options we have and EVERYONE is still playing with their cars. It is just the nature of modding. Jeff and Tracy both have done this before, but they aren't doing a factory install. It isn't going to work like a factory solution. If that's what you are looking for then you really should wait until GM decides to offer one. However, if you like playing with your car what they are offering is a good way to add power and have a lot of fun. Again, my two cents worth.

I agree with having to tinker with it all time. As for "a different tuning solution" if your talking hand held where I have to use a canned tune then I'll pass and still go with Vince. There are too many variable in location and setups for me to feel comfortable with a canned tune. The alternative is to pay for expensive dyno time to dial it in. In my view, that is not a cost effective alternative!

once you get the afr/ fuel etc worked out you shouldn't have to have to tuned again. I think that's what they are talking about. Little tweaks would be putting it on, getting tuned whether it be dyno tuned or email etc. Fixing any little problems that show up when on the dyno then everything else should be fine from there... You always want to check the couplers and oil lines periodically to make sure they are fine.... Not to be rude, but if someone can't commit to that then they should not go forced induction period.

So, for those of us who are not local to you and are buying the kit to install ourselves, how will that tuning be accomplished?

I had a turbo Passat and every 3,000 as part of the service they did all of that. At 20K they were supposed to pressure test everything, but by that time the whole service dept. switched out and I'm not sure they did. Eventually they got so bad I quit taking it to them. Anyway you look at it, FI introduces complexity and more things to monitor. When it is a mod you don't have a dealer to do that for you.
