The Pass One comes up on Thursdays for that week only.

This is a follow up from this morning.

I've seen threads that ask why their salesperson doesn't call them to give them updates. If you look at the chart above, since we have only one Camaro allocated this week, the only customer we have to call today is #1. If she (75 year old woman!) has no changes, her order will stay this way and no changes will be made on Tuesday. Now, let's say she decided she wanted a Hurst shifter. Since it is not available, we would give her the choice to change and become number 2 and then we would call number 2 and tell them they are now number 1 (as long as their car fits within constraints). The only reason anyone else would be contacted is if both 1 and 2 had constraints and didn't want to change. And so on and so on.

Again, I am not advocating that your dealer shouldn't return a phone call within a reasonable amount of time. All I am saying is that if you are far enough down the line, there is no reason for the dealer to contact you out of the blue because he has nothing else to do. Hopefully he is selling enough Chevy's to keep busy and to keep his doors open long enough so you get your Camaro!

Hopefully this post will give most of you some info so you can understand how the dealer sees these orders from week to week.

There was also something brought up about salespeople having access to GM Global Connect. They may be able to price out a car and have some functional access. However, they are probably restricted from actually ordering a car for obvious reasons. Usually upper dealership management has full access to all areas. Imagine a disgruntled salesperson ordering stick shift, no air Silverados or other wacky combos.

That's all for now. Hope it helps.

Thanks so much for the clarification!

Thank God you guys are out there helping the rest of us to calm down a notch or two. Its a shame that GM does not give you guy a bonus for helping out. Or at the very least get you a free demo car to drive around like Scott. Once again guys thanks for the info I am sure it helped many others understand this process a little better as well.

If we can get evryone on the same page, it might actually help everyone out. It's frustrating for both the dealer and customer when it's an adverse situation. Hopefully this post will keep you guys a little more informed. Just don't got to the dealer with this and make like you know more than he does (maybe you do). No one wants to look like a fool.

Can't we all just get along?

Absolutely. I have a certain friend who, in his own words, has become like my AA sponsor...

Hi. My name is Trent and I'm addicted to finding out when my Camaro is coming in... He calms me down on a regular basis but then again, I'm not talking to him every hour on the hour either. The key is reliable information. We all seem to go nutz every time some scrap of information is disseminated. Now, repeat after me:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Now, when the hell am I getting my Camaro ?

This is GREAT info. Now, we know when and when NOT to call our dealer. Plus how the process works. Thank you so much

PS...this is definately "Sticky" worthy I think.

That would actually be funny when you call your dealer on a Thursday or Friday and ask "Did you run your Pass One"? You may actually be helping him out by reminding him.

Wonder why my dealer avoids telling me where I stand on his priority list?
I have asked 3 times, he has told another person on this site where he is but still won't tell me.
