Might be getting my Camaro next month!

Howdy y'all!

Just figured while I'm sitting waiting I would make a post. I finally think I got all my finances in order to get my Camaro next month (May)! I was waiting to make sure I could cover food, gas, insurance, car, and I think I finally have everything down pat. I managed to get $10.5k to use partly as a down payment and partly to have the monthly payments covered for a year. That way I won't have to worry about not having food or gas money.

The only thing that could go wrong is my housing situation. I'm going to be starting my masters soon and will likely have to relocate, but there is an apartment/condo (not really sure what it is) that a family member has that they said I could use. So, as long as I get accepted and can use that housing, everything will be in order!

Sorry for the semi-long post, just really excited! I've been waiting for the Camaro since the concept came out. I thought I wasn't going to have enough until this December, but I got a nice bonus that was obnoxiously generous.

Hope to be back soon with the new car!

EDIT: 4/23/2011

Well... my day is ruined...

My current car (my '10 Malibu) got hit... driver mirror broke, fender scratched and dented, driver door scratched and dented and cannot even get it open, possible wheel damage, and it's driving funny, so possibly mechanical damage. No culprit in sight...

I already was sitting on the fence of owing what it was worth... with this... I'm not sure what to do now.

All of this happened about four hours after the person told me they were selling their place (the one I was possibly going to use)...

Today couldn't get any worse... so, I may not have my Camaro for a very very very long time now

Don't rule out an LS!! Great price (I paid $24K) for a great bare bones car that you can mod as your finances allow. There's quite a few of us who went that route, and you can really make her your own..just a thought...

I'm looking at this 2011 2LT with the grey interior and RS package and sunroof at a local dealership (and I'm really good at twisting this particular dealer's arm... got my current Malibu from sticker $23,535 down to $15,888 ). That particular setup was the first one my Dad and I saw and I just fell in love with it

If that one sells before I can get to it, then I'm probably going to be looking at a 1LT with grey interior, RS, and sunroof. If the LS had the RS and sunroof options, I'd go for it, but those two things are a need

I know that for at least the first six months to a year I won't be modding it too heavily (hoping the itch doesn't get too bad before that) just because. I do have plenty of mods in mind both aesthetic and performance wise that I will be doing. I am definitely planning on a Roto-Fab CAI as probably close to the first thing. Thinking the exhaust will be after that.

Congrats! And thanks for considering our products on your mod list. It's a fun car to drive and also fun to peek out the window and see it in the driveway!

Wow it's definitely been a bad day for you DocKevin and I'm very sorry to hear it.

I hope everything works out for the best, but don't worry if you have to wait it out the Camaro will only continue to get better!

None now :(

With what happened today, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get one. Probably not at all this year. The damage to the car is going to cripple my finances and make trading it in a pain. On top of now likely having to find a new place to live.

I may or may not be around on the forums as much. Today was painful. I literally had the exact car at the exact dealership. Money was in my hands, I was going to go pick it up in like a week or two.

-sigh-

Guess all I can hope for is a miracle :(

I do enjoy this forum though, so maybe I'll still hang around >.<
