You don't 'need' the ******** harness but it will make the install easier. I ended up having to add a PAC SNI35 in-between the existing BA amp (speaker-level output) and the new amp (low-level input). There's also the amp and sub wiring, too.

That's a tough question as it really depends on your preferences. I just added a JL Audio 10-inch power wedge (car toys $330 or so) and it hits hard enough for my needs.

I like rock and country mostly, some rap. I'm really liking Hollywood undead at the moment, my money is alright alright at the moment,I'm currently saving cash for Carlisle car shows coming up, but I was planning on ordering that harness next week and the looks for some subs, I've always wanted kicker subs for some reason but I will look at those ssa audios ones that was suggested

It feel a little strange that the box cost more then the sub...kinda like 5k rims on a 2k car.

I understand... but figure that the subs will go in any car, and therefore significantly more are sold. That volume brings overhead (tooling costs, material costs, manufacturing costs) down. Steve's boxes only fit our cars... so the number he could possibly sell is limited, costs go up...

but, if you REALLY want to spend more on the sub than the box, snag a JL 10W7 or a JBL W10GTi MKII ... pavement crackers.

but seriously, the Dcon are a great sub with lots of output and lots of control.
